Today, the SRL Interfaith Community celebrates Krishna Janmashtami, a Hindu festival honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, whose teachings on compassion, devotion, and service continue to inspire millions around the world.
As we recognize this sacred observance, we celebrate the rich religious and cultural diversity of our RIT community and join our Hindu students, faculty, and staff in marking this special day.

Today marks the beginning of Ayyām al-Bīḍ ("The White Days"), the 13th, 14th, and 15th days of the Islamic lunar month.

Many Muslims observe these days through voluntary fasting, a practice rooted in the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ayyām al-Bīḍ offers an opportunity for spiritual reflection, gratitude, self-discipline, and renewed mindfulness.

As we recognize this observance, Spirituality and Religious Life at RIT celebrates the diverse spiritual traditions represented within our campus community and the ways they encourage personal growth and service to others.

We wish peace and blessings to all who are observing.

Today, many Muslims around the world observe Mawlid an-Nabi, the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

For many, this occasion is marked through prayer, reflection, charitable giving, poetry, and gatherings that celebrate the Prophet’s teachings of compassion, mercy, justice, and service to others.

As we recognize Mawlid an-Nabi, Spirituality and Religious Life invites the RIT community to learn about the rich diversity of Muslim traditions and to reflect on the values that bring us together in care for one another and our communities.

Today, we recognize Khordad Sal, a Zoroastrian holy day celebrating the birth of the Prophet Zarathustra (Zoroaster), whose teachings have guided one of the world's oldest living faith traditions for thousands of years.

For many Zoroastrians, Khordad Sal is a time of prayer, gratitude, community gatherings, and reflection.

As we celebrate the rich diversity of religious, spiritual, and cultural traditions represented throughout the RIT community, we extend our warm wishes to all observing Khordad Sal.
