Family Sunday is always one of our favorite Sundays at CityHope. ❤️

There’s something special about seeing generations gathered around the same tables—kids, teenagers, parents, grandparents, singles, and everyone in between—worshiping, laughing, learning, and growing together.

Because church was never meant to be a place where we simply attend a service alongside each other. We’re becoming a family that learns to live and love like Jesus together.

This Sunday was also Promotion Sunday, which meant we got to celebrate our kids as they stepped into new classrooms and new seasons. We love watching them grow, but even more than that, we love that they’re growing up surrounded by a church family that knows their names, cheers them on, and reminds them that they have a place in what God is doing right now.

This is what we want CityHope to be: a church where every generation has a seat at the table, where families find community, and where we’re raising up the next generation to carry the hope of Jesus into Rochester and beyond.

We’re grateful for this church family. And we can’t wait to see what God builds through it. ❤️

🎉 One of our favorite Sundays of the year is here — Family Sunday + Promotion Sunday!

Four times a year, we do church a little differently. Instead of separating by age, we gather around tables as one big church family to worship, learn, laugh, and grow together.

Why? Because we believe faith is meant to be passed from generation to generation. Psalm 145:4 says, “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” ❤️

And this Sunday is extra special because it’s also Promotion Sunday! We’ll celebrate some exciting milestones as our kids move up a grade and many step into a brand-new CityHope Kids classroom.

👶👧🧑👨‍🦳 From our youngest to our oldest, everyone has a place at the table.

Come ready to celebrate, connect, and experience what it means to be a church family that lives and loves like Jesus.

65 years.

Just let that sink in for a second.

This Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating Sue Swingle, who has faithfully served in kids ministry at CityHope for 65 YEARS.

Think about how many Sunday mornings that is. How many kids she has loved, encouraged, prayed for, taught about Jesus, and reminded that they belong.

Thousands of lives have been impacted because Sue simply kept showing up and saying “yes” to Jesus.

That’s what we love about the Kingdom of God. You don’t have to have a platform to make an impact. You don’t have to be famous to change the world. Sometimes being missional looks like faithfully loving the people God puts right in front of you—week after week, year after year.

Sue, thank you for showing us what faithfulness looks like. CityHope is better because of you. ❤️
