Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandpas, godfathers, and father figures in our St. Jude’s family!

Today we thank God for the men who show us what faithful love looks like through countless everyday acts of sacrifice, hard work, patience, and devotion to their families.

St. Joseph reminds us that holiness is often found in the ordinary moments of life. As St. Josemaría Escrivá wrote:

“The greatest male saint who ever lived was not a deacon, not a priest, not a bishop, not a pope, not a hermit, not a monk…He was a husband, father and a worker.”

Today we pray in a special way for all fathers: those raising young children, those guiding grown families, those who have lost children, those awaiting the gift of fatherhood, and those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith.

St. Joseph, patron saint of fathers, pray for us.

Happy Father’s Day! 💙

BLESSED. 🙌❤️

CHWC 2026 is officially in the books, and wow… what a week!

This year’s theme was Blessed, and we definitely got to experience that firsthand. We spent the week serving others, meeting new people, making memories, and stepping outside our comfort zones (especially the daily cold showers!🥶). We truly were blessed by giving and received so much in return!

From working hard on job sites to singing our hearts out at night, from quiet moments of prayer to loud moments of praise, God showed up in so many ways.

We laughed a lot, worked harder than ever before, made new friends, grew closer as a group, and saw what happens when we become God’s hands.

Jack was with us the whole time- Mass on Thursday morning was said for him ❤️

Our hearts are busting with love and we are thankful for every person who helped make this trip possible!!!

Thank you parish family!!!

Love,

Addie, Ehren, Eli, Talia, Molly, Tinley, Roger, Joe, Adele, and Norah (and the adults: Peggy, Jean, Erik, and Steve)

Tonight at Catholic Heart Work Camp, the St. Jude Youth Group proudly wore our “Live Like Jack” shirts in memory of our friend, parishioner, and fellow youth group member, Jack Zucco.

Jack’s kindness, faith, sense of humor, and ability to make everyone feel welcome left a lasting mark on our group. We are missing him a ton on this CHWC trip, as Jack was an eager teammate on our ‘24 and ‘25 trips.

Today’s Gospel tells us that Jesus looked upon the crowds with compassion and then turned to His disciples, sending them out to serve.

It’s fitting that as our Catholic Heart Work Camp group begins their week of mission work, we also reflect on what it means to be a disciple. Christ doesn’t simply ask us to believe in Him. He sends us out to be His hands and feet in the world, sharing His love through acts of service, kindness, and compassion.

At Mass this weekend, we sang The Servant Song:

“What do you want of me, Lord?
Where do you want me to serve you?
Where can I sing your praises?
I am your song.
Jesus, Jesus,
You are the Lord!
Jesus, Jesus,
You are the way!”

Those words beautifully capture the spirit of CHWC and the call each of us receives as followers of Christ.

For many in our parish, that hymn also carries special meaning because of Jack Zucco, whose faithful commitment to Catholic Heart Work Camp and service to others touched so many lives. His example reminds us that discipleship is lived not only in words, but in a lifetime of caring for our neighbors.

As our teens serve this week, may they discover the joy that comes from giving of themselves for others and may they continue the legacy of faith-filled service that has been such a gift to our parish community.

And while not all of us are heading to serve on a mission trip this week, each of us is called to be a disciple right where we are. We can continue that same legacy of service and compassion. The harvest is still abundant, and Christ is still calling laborers to His work.

Our Catholic Heart Work Camp youth and chaperones headed out bright and early this morning for Michigan! Please keep them in your prayers throughout the week as they serve others and grow in their faith.

Thank you to everyone who supported our CHWC group through fundraisers, donations, and snack contributions. Your generosity helped make this experience possible.

May God keep them safe in their travels, bless their work, and bring them home with hearts full of joy, gratitude, and new experiences to share! ❤️
