Happy Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity!

Every time we make the Sign of the Cross, we proclaim the central mystery of our faith:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

One God, Three Persons. The Trinity is not simply a doctrine. It is the story of God’s love for us: the Father who created us, the Son who came to save us, and the Holy Spirit who remains with us, guiding and strengthening us each day.

Today we celebrate the God who has revealed Himself to us through perfect love.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” John 3:16

Dear Parishioners and Friends of the Church of St. Jude, Greetings!

Just for an update on our beautifully installed Church Bells and the Bell Tower:

Since installation, we have received numerous expressions of appreciation from parishioners, friends, and neighbors who have commented on the impact our Church Bells have on the town. We appreciate these expressions of support.

We are also aware that some people have expressed concerns to others, saying the bell and its sound are a nuisance or disturbance to them or their loved ones.

We, as a law-abiding community, have complied with all legal provisions and ordinances of our Rochester Village. As a peace-loving family of intentional disciples of Jesus Christ and as the good neighbors we have always tried to be, we have lowered the volume of the bells twice so that most neighbors can hardly hear them. However, the purpose of the project is to share the sacred sound of the bells with the community, and this change affects that intention. We have also reduced the number of times the bell rings from 5 daily to the below schedule:

Mondays – 12:00 noon and 6:00pm;
Tuesdays to Friday—7:10am, 12:00 noon, and 6:00pm;
Saturday—12:00noon, 6:00pm, and right before the 4:30pm Mass;
Sunday— 12:00 noon, and 6:00pm, and right before each of the two Masses on Sunday morning.

We also use the bells when we have funerals. Fortunately, we rarely have funerals here at St. Jude.

Our bell rings only between 7:10am and 6:00pm. It does not ring at night or every hour, and it is never loud or prolonged. If you hear claims to the contrary, please know they are not true. Stay informed and feel free to explain the facts if needed.

As a reminder, The BELL represents prayer, worship, attention, joy, mourning, and the Church’s call to holiness. The BELL TOWER represents the Church standing tall in the community and in the world, pointing people to heaven, and calling everyone to God.

Love and Peace,

Fr Peter
Pastor

“Behold, your mother.” - John 19:27

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church.

At the foot of the Cross, Jesus entrusted Mary to His disciples, and through them, to all of us. As our spiritual mother, Mary continues to guide us gently toward her Son with love, faith, and trust.

On this beautiful feast day, may we ask for Our Lady’s prayers for our parish family, our homes, and all those in need of comfort and peace.

Holy Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us!

Today, we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also pause to pray for all who have died in military service, for their loved ones who carry their memory, and for peace in our world.

“No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.” - John 15:13

Reminder: We will have a Memorial Day Mass today at 5:30pm at Rochester Cemetery. Come join us in praying for our fallen heroes.

Today was such a beautiful reminder of the many ways God walks with us through every stage of life.

At 10:30 Mass today, we celebrated the blessing of a marriage, welcomed a new child into the Church through Baptism, and offered prayers and blessings for two of our youth group high school graduates as they prepare for the next chapter of their journey this fall.

From new beginnings, to lifelong vocations, to stepping out in faith toward the future, we are grateful to share these moments together as a parish family. Please continue to keep all of these individuals and families in your prayers!!!

Come, Holy Spirit.

Today, the Church celebrates Pentecost Sunday; the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and filled them with courage, wisdom, and peace.

Pentecost reminds us that God does not leave us on our own. The Holy Spirit continues to guide the Church, strengthen our hearts, and draw us together as one family in Christ.

May we open our hearts to the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.

Our Newly Installed Bell and Bell Tower here at The Church of St. Jude.

The BELL represents prayer, worship, attention, joy, mourning, and the Church’s call to holiness.

The BELL TOWRER represents the Church standing tall in the community and in the world, pointing people to heaven, and calling everyone to God.

May God bless abundantly those who contributed to this memorable project of our dear Church.

Today, we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord. Traditionally, the Ascension was celebrated on Thursday, 40 days after Christ’s Resurrection, recalling the moment Jesus ascended into Heaven before His disciples. In many dioceses, including ours, the celebration is moved to Sunday so more of the faithful can take part in this important feast.

In the final words of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus gives us both a mission and a promise:

“And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:20

The Ascension reminds us that Jesus did not abandon His people. Though He ascended to the Father, He remains with us still, in the Eucharist, in Scripture, in the Church, and through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

The Ascension is not the end of His presence, but the beginning of our call to bring His love into the world with the confidence that we are never alone.
