Gratitude by Design

If gratitude comes from being the beneficiary of goodness, then we, as Christians, ought to be the most thankful people on earth! As repentant followers of Jesus, we have received forgiveness of sins, reconciliation to the Father, the gift of eternal life, and the empowerment and comfort of the Holy Spirit. Along with our new identity, we each have been equipped with unique gifts, which we are able to use in our mission to reach the nations for Christ and in worship to Him....

Standing O for Sandy
Sandy Wisdom-Martin said goodbye to Southern Baptists in Orlando today. Illinois’ favorite daughter will retire from her post as Executive Director-Treasurer of Woman’s Missionary Union at the end of the year. “Obedience in this season of my life requires me to be a caregiver,” she said.
The Illinois native has served ten years, and was previously on the state staff with IBSA and Texas Baptists. As the daughter of an Illinois coal miner whose family lived in a basement apartment, she thanked Southern Baptists for giving her wider view of the world, and her place in missions.
“Little in my life makes sense but for the grace of God,” she said. To the Baptists who stood to applaud, she said, “I am profoundly grateful.”

This is an important event each year so please remember to lift all the church messengers in prayer, asking God to unite hearts according to His perfect will and provide clear direction for future ministry across our churches.
