WHERE ARE THE NINE?
Luke 17:11–19

Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one came back to give Him glory.

Those ten men were, in many ways, walking dead men. Their bodies were slowly being destroyed by a disease that had no known cure. Leprosy didn’t care who you were—it leveled the playing field. Jew, Samaritan, Roman… rich or poor… it affected them all.

And sin does the same thing.

Sin puts every one of us on common ground. Rich or poor. Young or old. Churchgoer or someone who has never stepped through the doors. Sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death. We are all in need of a miracle.

The lepers had to cry out, “Unclean!” They were forced to keep their distance and were rejected by society. But when Jesus came to town, everything changed. There was healing in His presence!

All ten were glad they were healed. But only one had an attitude of gratitude. He turned around, returned to Jesus, fell at His feet, and gave Him the glory He deserved.

And here’s the question for the church today:

Are we thankful for what God does, or are we truly worshiping the One who did it?

It’s easy to thank God for our blessings. It’s another thing to lift our hands, raise our voice, bow our knees, and give Him the praise He deserves.

Sometimes we can have hundreds of people gathered in a service, yet only a portion are truly worshiping. Many are spiritually numb—going through the motions, sitting in a state of spiritual stupor when God is calling us to wake up and worship!

The nine were healed.

But the one who came back was made whole.

There is a difference between receiving God’s blessing and returning to give God glory.

So when everything is going right—praise Him.
When you’re walking through the valley—praise Him.
When you don’t understand—praise Him.
When you’re going through hell—give God your praise anyway!

What a powerful testimony today from Brother Michael whose message aligned with today’s sermon!

WE STILL BELIEVE! 🙌

📖 1 Corinthians 3:11 — “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Our foundation is still Jesus! We still believe! We believe in Jesus, and we believe the Word of God is still true.

We believe in the Jesus who walked on water. 🌊
We believe in the Jesus who spoke peace to the storm.
We believe in the Jesus who delivered those who were possessed.
We believe in the Jesus who performed miracle after miracle.

And we still believe that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19

We believe God will still provide.
We believe there is a Heaven.
We believe the day of judgment is coming.
We believe God’s Word is our truth and our guide.

We can’t simply live by what we think or what the world tells us. We have to live by what the Word of God says!

When you come face-to-face with a mountain, you have a choice: climb it, or let it fall on you. The Christian journey isn’t always easy. There will be deserts, battles, storms, and mountains—just like the children of Israel experienced.

But KEEP BELIEVING.
KEEP HOLDING ON TO JESUS.
KEEP WALKING FORWARD.

If you hold on to Jesus, you will overcome!

We still believe in the Upper Room.
We still believe in the power of the Holy Ghost.
We still believe in miracles.
We still believe in the power of prayer.
We still believe that Jesus is coming again!

And when we lift our hands, when we worship, and when we shout our praise, we’re declaring to the world:

WE STILL BELIEVE!

Our foundation hasn’t changed.
Our faith hasn’t changed.
Jesus hasn’t changed.

JESUS IS STILL THE FOUNDATION. JESUS IS STILL THE ANSWER. AND WE STILL BELIEVE!

We Want a Double Portion! 🔥

What a powerful word from 2 Kings 2:9–15!

Elisha had been trained by Elijah, but he understood that he could not live off of Elijah’s experiences or his relationship with God. Elisha was hungry for his own relationship with God. Three times Elijah tried to get Elisha to stay behind, but Elisha refused. He was determined to keep going!

There are places along our Christian journey where we can stop, settle, and become comfortable. But God has more for us! Like Elisha, we have to make up our minds that we will keep going, keep seeking, and refuse to settle for less than everything God has in store for us. Jesus is worthy of us continuing to pursue Him and seeking after ALL of Him!

Elisha said, “If you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you.” He was expecting something from God. If you’re expecting it, you’ll be ready to receive it—but if you’re not expecting it, you may miss it!

When Elijah’s mantle fell, Elisha picked it up, but first he tore his own mantle in two. There are things we have to tear away and lay down if we want to receive what God has for us—bad attitudes, old habits, distractions, complacency, and anything else that stands between us and God’s best.

Acts 1:8 tells us, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.”

So the question is: How are we identified today? When people see our lives, will they recognize that we have something different? Will they see the anointing and power of God upon us, just as Elijah was recognized?

Lord, give us a hunger for You, a desire for more of You, and a life that is marked by Your anointing!
