Awaken Church RVA meets & serves in the Richmond, VA area! Awaken is a contemporary, non-denominational, Christian church serving in the Richmond, VA area.

We are focused on Family (cultivating an authentic community) Outreach (reaching those far from Christ) & Discipleship (equipping & activating those in Christ). We believe and preach the word of God as outlined in the 66 books of the Holy Bible. Our focus is on authentic spiritual growth as individuals and as a church family. This growth results in lives changing, people serving, and God being placed first in all situations. Our church family is diverse, with people from different backgrounds connected through our shared pursuit to become more like Jesus. We are fellowship focused and believe Sunday service should be a launching pad for our congregation to do life together! A common phrase you'll hear during service is "Real Church," which means we don't pretend we have it all together; instead, we embrace authentic relationships through our highs and lows so we can support and encourage one another as we push towards Jesus.

A mistake doesn’t have to become a spiral. Keep pursuing what’s right, and when you stumble, get back up quickly. Being right with God rests on Christ’s work, not your perfect record.

A small compromise can feel harmless—until it opens the door to more. Honest confession and trusted accountability can help break that cycle, with forgiveness already offered through Jesus.

10/27/2026

Temptation often offers a shortcut to what God promises: happiness, healing, or control. The shortcut may feel easier, but it leaves us compromising for less than the lasting joy and refuge faith can offer.

If it takes loopholes and mental gymnastics to justify something, that may be the sign to walk away. Protecting your conscience and your witness matters more than feeling okay in the moment.

🔥 TOMORROW IS A BIG SUNDAY AT Awaken Church RVA! 🔥

We’re wrapping up UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT through Romans 6 with a question that hits all of us:

What are you serving, and where is it taking you?

Pastor Nicholas Jenkins will close out the series with:

TWO MASTERS. TWO OUTCOMES. 📖 Romans 6:15–23

Sin promises a lot, but Paul tells us to look at the fruit, look at the destination, and look at what it ultimately pays.

And tomorrow is more than just the final teaching…

🌱 It’s GROW SUNDAY!
🌶️ And our CHILI COOK OFF!

Grow Sunday: 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off | Oct. 25th | 10:30 AM

Come worship with us, connect with your church family, and stick around for a great Sunday together.

Bring the family. Bring somebody with you. Come ready to grow—and come hungry!

Living with an open hand and choosing grace when it feels impossible is the ultimate test. The Sermon on the Mount changes everything, forcing us to ask if our actions truly reflect our faith. It is time to look at the words of Jesus and live them out for real.

10/24/2026

It is easy to admire a message on Sunday while forgetting it on Monday. True transformation happens when we move beyond listening to living out these words. Belief is a choice that demands a response in our daily lives.

10/23/2026

It is time to set down the weight of past mistakes and the chaos they create. By turning toward faith and choosing genuine repentance, you open the door to a life of peace and obedience. True freedom begins the moment you stop carrying it all alone. Are you ready to take that next step?
