Our hearts are with everyone who has been impacted by the recent fires. As our community comes together during this difficult time, we want you to know we're here to help.

Please help us spread the word to any seniors displaced or struggling due to the fires.

If you're age 60 or older, we have a seat waiting for you at one of our seven dining sites. Join us Monday through Friday for a free, hot, nutritious meal in a welcoming space. No one should have to worry about where their next meal will come from, especially during times like these.

Friends, if you're looking for ways to help those affected by the wildfires, you can bring nonperishable food and personal care items to our location at 5825 Burlington Loop, Pasco, WA 99301, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We transfer food and other items to our Spokane location and surrounding areas daily through our more than 250 food bank and pantry partners in Eastern Washington.

Throwback Thursday: circa June 2002 - Pasco Farmers Market. This was our second year taking our fruit to market, back when vendors had to line up very early Saturday morning along S. Fourth Avenue and get waved in one vehicle at a time. There were so many vendors, we often ended up against the back wall as shown here. I came across this snapshot yesterday and posted it to my “Stories”, but decided it needs to live in my feed. The back of the photo was dated September 2002 - long before digital photos - when you’d wait sometimes months to get an actual roll of film developed. Also note: the matching shirts and clear signage. We may have gotten older, but some things haven’t changed.
(*Edited to add: When thinking of prices… off road diesel was about $1.15 in 2002 and we paid over $5.70 per gallon this week. Washington state’s minimum wage was $6.90/hr in 2002, it’s now $17.13/hr.)

Spokane is home. 22 years ago, we opened our doors off Dishman Mica and since then have seen our city through good seasons and hard seasons. Right now, we’re in a hard one.

We know coffee can’t rebuild a home. But it can remind our neighbors that they’re not facing this alone, and that this community shows up for each other when it matters most.

So tomorrow, we’re doing what we can. 100% of proceeds from all sales at all locations, up to $15,000, will be going directly to the Innovia Foundation Wildfire Response Fund.

Every dollar stays right here in our community, going straight to the families who’ve lost homes, land, and so much more.

Wildfires have had a serious impact on farmers and growers across the region. The Washington State Department of Agriculture has tips to prepare yourself, your farm, your livestock before a wildfire hits.

The WSDA also stresses that the Department does not have a dedicated fire relief fund, so please be on alert for potential scams and individuals trying to take advantage of your caring heart.
