Every Sunday morning Our Lord Jesus Christ gathers us together around His saving Means of Grace to create and sustain our faith in Him and strengthen us for service in the world He has made. The mission of our congregation comes from our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and is recorded in Matthew 28:18-20: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all

nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Zion is part of the Readlyn Area Lutheran Parish, a two-point parish with St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church of Readlyn. During the summer months and for special services, we alternate locations for worship with St. Matthew’s are member congregations of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC). The NALC is Christ Centered, Mission Driven, Traditionally Grounded, and Congregationally Focused. Contact information:

Our Third Sunday of Pentecost message from Pastor Rabary was to show compassion for others, just as Christ showed compassion for His people.
It was a meaningful and surprising service for Pastor too! During the worship service the Parish Council presented him with a certificate recognizing his 30 year anniversary as an ordained minister! St. Matthew’s & Zion members also surprised him with two tickets to the FIFA cup game in Texas on June 25th! We could feel God’s presence and His love in celebrating Pastor Rabary! Enjoy the pictures!

Our message for the Second Sunday after Pentecost was that we are called by God’s grace. Pastor Rabary spoke of Matthew 9:9-13, when Jesus called Matthew, a despised tax collector, to follow Him and was later questioned why He was eating with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus explained His mission was to bring salvation to sinners, not to the righteous. Yes, we are called by God’s grace!

We are also blessed with God’s presence in our everyday lives and feel His presence in our church services. Join us for worship service on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. to hear more about God’s love for us!

Sunday’s Holy Trinity Sunday message was on Trinitarian Baptism, referencing Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs His desciples to, “ go therefore and make desciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name if the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

We were blessed and rejoiced to be part of the baptism of Hendrix Gus Jaschen during the service! Congratulations to his parents and family, and thank you to his sponsors!

Day of Pentecost
Fifty days after Easter, the Holy Spirit rushed into the disciples dwelling place and filled them with the power of God. They were called to continue what Jesus had begun when he was among them- the same calling to which we have been called. Go and share the good news. Teach , serve, love and attend to the needs of all who are lacking , suffering , or lost. THIS is the way of Christ.
