Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation

Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation This organization has been working to preserve the resting places of our earliest settlers in Berks

Research supports the existence at one point of over 300 historic graveyards in Berks County. Of these approximately 120 remain with some sort of visible surface evidence. The BCAGP is working aggressively to preserve any and all evidence of Berks County's early history and particularly these historic graveyards for future generations. Support from membership, donations, and proceeds from sale of publications help to provide funds for our activities.

Some of our newer followers might be wondering why all the photos yesterday? Well, Oley Township has the highest concentration of historic, orphaned burial grounds of all of Berks. Without the teamwork of volunteers, it would be years in between visits by BCAGP. In ONE day with Oley Valley FFA, we get 21 visited.
