It's hard to believe it's been a week since our Mission Day Sabbath! It was a powerful day as over 3300 people gathered to worship, pray, fellowship, and "engage in one accord." There were health fairs. A family fun fair. Giveaways of clothing and backpacks filled with school supplies. And thousands of people going door-to-door offering prayer, resources, and the gospel.

In Tunkhannock, Pastor Stephen Rajan led a group of missionaries from the Beaumont, Tunkhannock, and Wyoming Valley Seventh-day Adventist Churches. They spent the afternoon visiting the surrounding community, praying with people, and sharing bags of literature and resources. They may never know until heaven the impact those two hours of walking and sharing had in lives. But we can trust that God is on the move as a result of the prayers and commitment.

Webster's Dictionary defines "Sabbath" as a time of rest. The Bible says God established the Sabbath when He finished creating the world and began enjoying creation and time with Adam and Eve. The Sabbath is an invitation to rest and enjoy time with Him--to stop doing and rest in being: being loved, created with purpose, wanted for relationship.

Happy Sabbath!

The Norristown Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church planned a trip together to Wildwood, New Jersey--a day to enjoy the beach and friendships. But it turned into an even more special day when Eiza decided to be baptized in the ocean while there.

Eiza has been attending the Norristown church for almost a year and is also part of the Pathfinder Club. She had been debating whether or not to be baptized. When she found out about Sunday's trip to the ocean, she made the decision to take that step and be baptized there.

Pastor Joshua Schochet baptized Eiza on his last day as pastor of the Norristown church. "I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful way to finish such an amazing year," he shares. He continues to serve in the Pennsylvania Conference as pastor at the Peniel Brazilian, Bethel Hispanic, and Chestnut Hill churches--all in the Philadelphia area. "What a privilege it is to serve God and witness lives being transformed by His power!"

"I know Saturday is the Sabbath." That's what one woman shared as she was given a "Why I Go to Church on Saturday" Glow Tract (written by Pennsylvania Conference President Gary Gibbs) during the Mission Day event in State College.

Members from Altoona, Everett, and Lewistown joined the State College Seventh-day Adventist Church family for a day of worship, fellowship, and service. Pennsylvania Conference Media Ministries Director Matt Stroup also joined the group--Matt grew up in the area and wishes someone would have gone door-to-door and shared the gospel or the opportunity to learn about Jesus when he was a young person.

The volunteers included students from Penn State University, where the church hosts a Bible study. Victoria joined the Friday night group, wanting to grow in Christ. She's begun attending church and was excited to join the Mission Day event and tell others about Jesus and the Sabbath.

The over 3300 people who joined one of our 30 Mission Day ages ranged in age from little children to college students all the way to senior citizens. Each coming because of their love for Jesus and desire to share Him with others. We can't wait to learn more stories of the powerful ways God moved as we prayed for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and asked Him to transform lives.

In 2020, two little girls decided to start the Lime Street Food Pantry in Carnegie, PA. They decorated a cabinet and filled it with non-perishables. They began an important outreach ministry of The Simple Way Seventh-day Adventist Church, where that one cabinet has grown and expanded over the last six years, helping families in need.

This past Sabbath, a group of missionaries from The Simple Way, Pittsburgh, and Washington churches "engaged in one accord" to help support the food pantry--and meet the community. Members went door-to-door inviting people to contribute staples to the pantry, offering to pray with them, and sharing literature, including the "Why I Go to Church on Saturday" Glow Tract.

They were joined by Kameron DeVasher, Pennsylvania Conference Assistant to the President, who was the only pastor that morning--this Mission Day was led by lay people with a heart for sharing Jesus and serving their community. God has called each of us to share the gospel, with our words and actions. These volunteers did just that, uniting together to fulfill our mission of reaching everyone, everywhere.

Members from the Carlisle, Chambersburg, and Needmore Seventh-day Adventist Churches united together with the Shermans Dale church family to "engage in one accord" on our Mission Day Sabbath. Manual Gonzalez, our Pennsylvania Conference Associate Treasurer, joined the group of missionaries as they worshipped, prayed, enjoyed lunch and friendships, and then spent the afternoon going door-to-door in the community. They prayed with people and shared bags filled with invitations to the Shermans Dale church's upcoming Diabetes Undone program, "Why I Go to Church on Saturday" (written by Conference President Gary Gibbs) Glow Tracts, and a "Great Controversy Card," which offers video, digital, and paper versions of "The Great Controversy" (greatcontroversycard.com).

We may never know this side of eternity the impact this powerful Mission Day had in lives as people read the Glow Tracts and visited DiscoverSabbath.com to learn more--or followed on Facebook. They may explore the "Prophecies of Hope" video Bible study series. Or read "The Great Controversy" after receiving the card. Let's continue to pray for the people who were reached through our Mission Day.

Members of four churches united together to fulfill the mission of reaching everyone, everywhere on Mission Day Sabbath in West Middlesex, PA. Meridian Road, New Brighton, Seneca, and Shenango Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church families gathered at the Shenango Valley church for worship, prayer, lunch, and an afternoon to "engage in one accord."

Wearing the Mission Day t-shirts, with maps in hand, these missionaries went door-to-door sharing literature, praying with people, and praying for homes when no one was there.

One of the goals of this year's Mission Day was supporting and encouraging smaller churches. Each of the 30 sites where members gathered were smaller churches who may not be able to do such a large outreach without support. But when we "unite together, we fulfill the mission".

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this such an impacting day! We're looking forward to hearing stories of how lives were transformed.

Ten teams. 200+ loaves of homemade bread. 146 homes. Thirty-three people. 200 bags filled with a loaf of bread, a copy of the book "Lessons From History" ("The Great Controversy"), a "Why I Go to Church on Saturday" Glow Tract, plus invitations to an upcoming Healthy Lifestyle cooking class, and a card to request Bible studies and prayer requests.

These are the numbers from the Watsontown Seventh-day Adventist Church's Mission Day. Members created a list of 200 homes in the community from their Bible study interests, those who attended previous evangelistic meetings, worship and social event visitors, non-attending members, VBS families, and friends. They plan to visit the 50 or so remaining homes this week.

"Many who participated have expressed how they enjoyed this very much," shares member Kerry Stahl. "It is very fun working together to meet people, offer prayer for them and give them a gift. The people were very warm and welcoming and appreciated the visit. I believe we will see benefits from this outreach."

It's exciting to see the commitment of the Watsontown members--that's a lot of bread to make and homes to visit. And they're not done yet.

Let's unite together to pray for Watsontown and all of our Pennsylvania Conference churches as they continue to "engage in one accord" and share the gospel.

Neighbors across the Scranton area received bags filled with "Hope and Happiness" and "Why I Go to Church on Saturday" Glow Tracts on Sabbath. They were delivered by members of the Honesdale, Pocono Grace, Scranton, Scranton Hispanic, and Wilkes Barre Hispanic churches who united together to "engage in one accord" for the Pennsylvania Conference 2026 Mission Day.

They spent the morning worshiping together--joined by Pennsylvania Conference Education Superintendent Monica Wringer. After lunch, they teamed up to go through neighborhoods, praying and sharing the gospel.

They were a part of more than 3300 volunteers who gathered at 30 sites across Pennsylvania to serve communities in a variety of ways. It was a historic day--Pennsylvania has never had so many people uniting together on the same day to unite together to fulfill our mission of reaching everyone, everywhere.
