Thatโ€™s a hard question.

Because being connected to Christ and growing in Christ arenโ€™t exactly the same thing.

โ€ข You can attend church.
โ€ข Know the songs.
โ€ข Know the Bible stories.
โ€ข Know all the right Christian words, and still become spiritually stuck.

This Sunday weโ€™re taking the next step in our discipleship pathway: ๐‚๐Ž๐๐๐„๐‚๐“ โžœ ๐†๐‘๐Ž๐– โžœ ๐’๐„๐‘๐•๐„ โžœ ๐†๐Ž โžœ ๐Œ๐”๐‹๐“๐ˆ๐๐‹๐˜

Last week we talked about ๐‚๐Ž๐๐๐„๐‚๐“๐ˆ๐๐†: ๐€๐›๐ข๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ง ๐‚๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ.

But once weโ€™re connected, something should begin to happen.

๐™‡๐™ž๐™›๐™š ๐™จ๐™๐™ค๐™ช๐™ก๐™™ ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ค๐™™๐™ช๐™˜๐™š ๐™‚๐™๐™Š๐™’๐™๐™ƒ.

Paul tells us to be โ€œ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ค๐™ฉ๐™š๐™™ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™—๐™ช๐™ž๐™ก๐™ฉ ๐™ช๐™ฅ ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐™ƒ๐™ž๐™ขโ€ (Colossians 2:7).

So hereโ€™s the question weโ€™ll wrestle with Sunday: ๐–๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐‰๐ž๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ง ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐‘๐ˆ๐†๐‡๐“ ๐๐Ž๐–?

And if you have trouble answering that question, this message may be exactly where your next step begins.

The church should be a place you can turn to in times of trouble, a place of compassion, help, prayer, and hope. There is no shame in reaching out when life becomes overwhelming.

But if trouble is the only time you come to the church, youโ€™re missing more than you can imagine.

The church is not merely a place to receive assistance; it is a Christ-centered community where we worship together, grow in faith, carry one anotherโ€™s burdens, discover our purpose, and learn to serve others. It is where strangers become family and where we are reminded that we were never meant to walk through life alone.

Come when you are hurting; we want to help. But stay and become part of the family. You may discover that God brought you through the doors not only to meet todayโ€™s need, but to transform your life and someday use you to meet the needs of someone else.
