President Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will deliver a keynote address at the Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Washington, D.C.

The event, titled “Faith, Freedom and the Common Good,” will explore the relationship between religious faith and American democracy. President Oaks will speak on faith, religious liberty and the United States Constitution on the eve of Constitution Day.

The free event begins at 6 p.m. EDT in the cathedral’s nave and will be available online via livestream.

Community Blood Drive — Give Blood, Help Save Lives

Join us for a community blood drive with Vitalant on Friday, September 18, from 4:00–6:45 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in RAPID CITY at 2822 Canyon Lake Dr.

Local blood donations are currently at a two-year low, and the need remains high. Your donation will help support patients at 17 local hospitals served by Vitalant.

Our goal is 22 lifesaving donations — and every donor can make a difference!

Donors will receive a Halloween-themed donor shirt through their Vitalant account and will also be entered in Vitalant’s drawing for two $10,000 gift cards.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1st at 10:30 am, all are invited to view a worldwide broadcast regarding the announcement of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration theme and the beginning of ticket reservations for this once-in-a-generation experience. The broadcast can be viewed at Broadcasts.ChurchOfJesusChrist.org.

Following the broadcast, at 11:00 a.m., guests may reserve tickets for the temple open house through TempleSquare.org and the Temple Square app.

The Salt Lake Temple public celebration will run April 5 through October 1, 2027. All are invited to this worldwide celebration in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Salt Lake Temple is opening its doors in 2027. Everyone is welcome! Tickets for the tour are available September 1, 2026.
