Avent Ferry United Methodist Church Worship, Invite, Nurture, Serve! Avent Ferry United Methodist Church met for the first time as Wynnewood Park Methodist Church on March 10, 1956. W. L.

There were about 30 people present. They met in the office building of the old Sol Kaplan Dairy. The adjoining dairy barn was renovated during that summer for a church building. These buildings were just off Avent Ferry Road on the edge of the Wynnewood Park development. That area is now filled with homes and apartments. Jack Crum was the first appointed pastor. The dairy barn continued to serve a

s the church building until Mr. & Mrs. Martin, members of the church, gave two acres of their home farm to the church. The Raleigh Board of Missions purchased three more acres from them to establish the present location on the corner of Avent Ferry and Crest Roads. A new building was completed in August 1961 and the church moved out of the dairy barn. In 1983 the name of the church was changed to Avent Ferry United Methodist Church.

Single BBQ Plates are $20.00 and include pulled pork BBQ, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread, a dessert and a drink. (Vegan BBQ also available).
Family Dinner Package (3 Dinner Plate combo) are $50.00 and include pulled pork BBQ, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread, a dessert and a drink. (Vegan BBQ also available).
You can add a tip if you would like by selecting the Regular + Tip option at checkout, which will add $2.00 to each dinner.
