You can have beautiful, vibrant pieces of fabric—different colors, different patterns, different shapes—but if nothing holds those pieces together, you don't have a quilt. You just have a pile of fabric. In the Christian community, love is that 'thread' that holds the fabric of our lives together.

Compassion without love feels like an obligation, and patience without love can quickly turn to resentment. But when love is at the center, everything else makes sense.

Are you letting love be the thread that holds your relationships together today?

Paul didn't tell the early church to try harder to be good; he told them to remember who they were.

Colossians 3:12 reminds us: 'Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.'

When we start by realizing we are already deeply loved by God, our actions shift from obligation to a natural response of gratitude. You don't have to earn His love today—you are already chosen. Let that truth be the foundation for everything you do this morning.

It is entirely possible to wear your Sunday best without ever putting on a Christlike attitude. We often treat our faith like a garment we only pull out for special occasions, but Paul reminds us that following Jesus is a daily commitment to how we treat one another.

It's not about the clothes in our closet; it's about the character we carry into the grocery store, the family dinner, and the quiet moments when nobody is watching.

Dress well. And no, I don't mean your Sunday best or the latest fashion trends. I’m talking about something much more important: putting on the new self that is renewed in the image of its Creator.

When we invite Jesus into every corner of our lives—our thoughts, our words, and our interactions—it changes how we treat one another.

No matter our background or history, Christ is all, and He is in all. That is the beauty of being truly alive. Let's make it a goal to wear that grace out into the world this weekend.

I’ve (Tom) been reflecting on what exactly captures my heart when I should be looking 'above.' If you’re being honest with yourself, what do you feel is the biggest distraction keeping you from fully living in that 'Christward' way?

I remember a show called 'Barter Kings' where people traded a simple crossbow for an RV through a series of intentional exchanges.

It sounds strange, but it reminds me of our walk with Jesus. We carry around old baggage—anger, blame, shame, or those 'relationship-breaking' habits—and we think they are just part of who we are.

But Paul tells us to 'nip it in the bud.' It is time to trade those heavy, destructive weights for the freedom of a new self. You aren't just covering up the past; you are being made brand new by the Creator.
