Harvestfield Church

Harvestfield Church Authentic relationships. Authentic gospel. Worship with us Sundays at 10:30a and Wednesdays at 6:00p! Our services last about an hour, and childcare is provided.

Harvestfield Church is a Baptist church in Rainbow City, Alabama. After more than 20 years of ministry to the Greater Gadsden area of Etowah County, we continue to strive toward faithfully preaching and singing the gospel in a way that prioritizes a high view of the sovereignty of God and the supreme value of Jesus Christ. HFC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and exists to extend

the glory of God by making disciples through the transforming power of the AUTHENTIC GOSPEL in the context of AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIPS expressed through FOUR BIG THINGS:

1) LARGE GROUP WORSHIP: We gather together every Sunday morning and Wednesday night to worship Christ through the singing and preaching of the gospel (Acts 2:46; 1 Corinthians 12:14; Hebrews 10:25). We hope you and your family will join us at HFC for our next Large Group gathering! Worship begins at 10:30am on Sundays and 6:00pm on Wednesdays. Arrive a little early to give yourself time to check in your kids, meet a few people, and grab a cup of coffee in The Blend. We're already expecting you, and our Host Team is ready to welcome you and help you find your way around.

2) HOME GROUPS: We scatter into homes throughout the week to grow our faith in community with other disciples of Jesus (Acts 5:42; 16:40; 18:26; Romans 16:5; Philemon 2). Home Groups are the relational heart of HFC! Each group consists of 5-8+ people and functions with four main objectives in mind: CONNECT individuals and families to authentic relationships with other believers, DISCIPLE group members toward maturity in Christ, SERVE one another and those in the surrounding community, and SEND group members out to start a new Home Group every 1-2 years, multiplying reach and effectiveness as disciples make disciples.

3) MISSIONS AND MINISTRY: We mobilize and equip the people of Christ to deliver the gospel to their neighbors here at church, across the street, and around the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8ff). There are many ways you can get on mission with HFC! We have several ministry teams and missions partners that offer a number of opportunities to pray, give, serve, and go. Our members are expected to make disciples within the church walls by serving on at least one ministry team and also outside the church walls by partnering with at least one local missions team as well as supporting or going on domestic and international "Kingdom Journeys" as opportunities arise.

4) CHURCH PLANTING: We send Christ-followers out from among us to plant doctrinally sound churches in the communities that need them most (Acts 11-18; Ephesians 4:11; Philippians 2:25; 1 Thessalonians 3:2). We believe that churches should plant churches! We pray earnestly that the Lord would raise up bold men from HFC who are passionate about discipleship, fellowship, and sound doctrine that He might "send out workers into his harvest field" (Matthew 9:37-38 NIV). It is with hope-filled hearts that we announce that Kelli Carnes' and Lori Watson's father (Larry Watson) passed away yesterday. As Larry is experiencing the fullness of joy in the presence of Christ, we remain to grieve as those who have the same hope that carried Mr. Watson unto his Lord. Pray for their family as they stand firm in the faith during this time. And, may God lift our tear-filled eyes to the hope of the gospel reality.

1 Thess 4:13-14 "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep." (Resurrection hope... now, and yet to come.)

This morning I was setting up for our New Members and Connections Class, and I just found myself thanking the Lord for it. Even in something as simple as someone considering church membership, there is discipleship happening.

This class is really about next steps. It is for those who are starting to take their faith seriously and want to step into a community of believers where we walk together, grow together, and build one another up for the sake of the Kingdom.

“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27, ESV)

Church membership is not just a name on a roll. It is a commitment to be part of Christ’s body, to serve one another, and to grow together in Him. Church community is the active representation and participation of Christ's body on this earth.

I would love to see some of you here this morning.
