YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN YOURSELF UP BEFORE YOU WALK IN -Landon Myers

We need to normalize sin within the church. That sounds strange, maybe even backwards, but it's exactly what Paul does in his own life. He treats it as expected.

Think about a garden. We've yet to see one that grows beautiful flowers or healthy, robust produce without also growing weeds.

Nobody pretends the weeds aren't there or hopes they'll magically disappear. The weeds get named, and then they get pulled.

There's not one church in the whole world without sin in it. The only church with no sin is a church with no people.

You can walk through these doors comfortable with yourself and with your sin. That's why we're all here. We needed a Savior the first day, and we only grow in our awareness of that.

Where the Holy Spirit is active, sin gets recognized instead of hidden. We're not afraid of it, we're not ashamed of it, and confession and repentance follow.

Living this way grows humility and kills pride, which makes everybody's life better. It kills self-reliance, it stirs repentance, and it trades legalism, religious slavery, and going through the motions for real freedom in Christ.

It also tells the world something true: we're not perfect, but we know the One who is, and He wants to simply be with us. That invitation is open to you.
