Founders of SG3 Ministries Matthew and Christina Clark were given a vision years ago to start an outreach ministry that turned into more than they imagined. What started out as going to local skate parks reaching the youth by doing outreaches and encouraging them to love others with the love of Jesus. God made what seemed impossible possible, God called them to Limerick Ireland in March of 2012 an
d they did their first international outreach at the local skate park in Limerick. In August of 2012 the local skate shop owner in Prescott, Az. called them and asked if they would be interested in purchasing the local skate shop, Calavera Board Supply. They were very excited, but also needed confirmation that this would be what God wanted. The shop purchase would be a big step for them financially. God, put on their heart to research the meaning of the name Calavera and what they found was astonishing! Calavera is the Latin word for The Skull or The Place of Skulls (Golgotha / Calvary) the place where Jesus, was crucified. That was all the confirmation they needed so they purchased the local skate shop that was located in The Gateway Mall in Prescott AZ. Matthew and Christina cleaned up the image of the store, taking out the negative influences the skate distributors typically encourage. Kids and families were walking into Calavera telling them they felt the need to check out the store and didn’t know why and ended up giving their lives to Jesus in the store. New believers and Christians with a desire for a more edgy church, started a bible study in the back room of the skate shop and ended up having church services from 6pm-8pm during store hours. God put on Matthew and Christina’s hearts to look for a building and open up an indoor skate park youth center for the kids and families in the community. So that’s what they did and God blew their minds once again! He provided them with an 8900 sq. foot warehouse and they began the build out in Feb. 12, 2013, 8 months of awesome craziness. When the build out was completed in Sept. 2013, they now had an amazing state of the art indoor skate park/Church with a movie theater, dance studio, concert hall, arcade, pool table, ping pong table, computer lab, nursery, beautiful parking lot, Kettle corn machine and much more. They never imagined that a local skate shop would soon be turned into one of the coolest and hippest churches in the Prescott area! Calavera Community Church was a Non-denominational Christian bible teaching church that loves Jesus and people very much. The church lasted a short season and reached many. God has us in a new season of rest and then we would love to GO back out and do out reaches. Please feel free to contact us, if you'd like to run along side us to reach precious people for Jesus!
