March KOZ is about Fire and Survival.
This picture is from February the boys found a deer skull and put it in the fire pit.

We will be learning about fire safety and how to be successful at building a useful fire.
We will also be going over some survival info.
Saturday 3/21 8:30am to 12:30pm at New Covenant Fellowship
As always KOZ is for boys age 8-18
They are allowed to bring knives and fire starters especially this month.
Lunch will be provided

Due to construction starting behind the pond, we had to move the Fire pit to the west side of the pond.

We will be selling laundry detergent again as a fundraiser, orders will be due at our April KOZ meeting.

We are going to be replacing bands on sling shots and learning a little bit about chainsaw maintenance and use.
If we put new bands on slings shots of course we gotta shoot em.
If the boys have a sling shot that needs new bands, they are welcome to bring them.

January KOZ is “Around the World”
Since we don’t have the time or money for that kind of trip, we are going to do the next best thing 😁
We are going to Bass Pro Shops.
Since we will be spending quite a bit of time getting there and back we will be extending our hours this time.

December KOZ is “Giving Back”
The boys will be grilling up some Bergers and Hotdogs for whoever wants to show up and get a free meal.
We will be set up at Bomgars in the parking lot.
Not only will the boys be doing something nice for the community, they will also be sharpening their grilling skills.
We will meet at New Covenant Fellowship at 8:30am and be back at church for pick up around 1pm. Saturday December 20
We will be serving lunch from 11-12:30

For this month’s activity, we will be going to a taxidermy shop, then we will demonstrate different methods for attracting deer, and go over some hunter safety tips.
As always the meeting will start and end at New Covenant Fellowship around the fire pit.

Our October event will be a camp out. We are going back to Little Black River.
We will leave New Covenant Fellowship at 5 pm 10/17 Friday and return Saturday 10/18 at 12:30pm
We have some camping gear for the boys to use, they should bring a pillow and sleeping bag or blanket as well as a flash light.
They can bring whatever gear they have.
We will be fishing, shooting sling shots and archery.
We encourage the boys to invite a friend, we will have to have permission signed for first time attendees. If a boy brings a friend that hasn’t attended before, the new boy gets KOZ dog tags and membership, the boy that invited him gets a prize.
