We will kick off the Sunday School Program this coming Sunday, September 13th. There will be no actual class but the youth will be participating in the procession of The Elevation of the Venerable and Life-Giving Cross. ☦️🌿

We ask that children bring crosses from home. If they are unable, we will have some crosses and candles (for older children) to use in the procession. At the conclusion of the procession, Father would like to offer a special prayer for the Sunday School program and bless the children with holy water. We will also take a moment get a photograph of Father with the children and teachers holding their crosses. Please make every effort to attend!😊

In today’s Gospel, the King invites everyone to the wedding feast. The tragedy is not that the guests were doing evil things, but that they became so preoccupied with the concerns of daily life that they ignored the invitation.

Many of us can relate. School, sports, work, family responsibilities, friendships, and goals are not bad things. In fact, they are often gifts from God. The question is whether these things draw us closer to Him or slowly take His place in our hearts. And even when we accept the invitation, the Gospel reminds us that we must also put on the wedding garment.

The Church Fathers teach that this garment is a life clothed in Christ: faith, repentance, humility, mercy, and love. God desires more than our attendance; He desires our transformation.

As you leave the Divine Liturgy today, ask yourself: Am I merely living a busy life, or am I allowing Christ to shape the person I am becoming?
