“May Christ make His home in your heart through faith.”
Ephesians 3:17B

We need to live our faith every day rather than save it for the holidays or weekends. You know, actually behave in the way that our religion teaches. It doesn’t matter what we believe in, just live it.

Jesus taught his disciples to treat others well, especially if they’re different. He washed the feet of criminals and ladies of the night. No one was above another. No one was better. What happened to that?

Pagans are supposed to be taught that everything is connected and whatever energy they put out into the universe does reflect back to them, eventually. Many other faiths also recognize this belief as karma, the three-fold law, or some other variation.

Live your faith, your actual beliefs, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

No shortcuts. No blind hatred. No one else’s business matters but your own.

Just dwell in your beliefs and your own affairs.

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

“Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.”
Rabindranath Tagore

Faith doesn’t need proof to exist. Faith believes the light will be there before dawn strikes. Faith will lead you through the rough patches in life because it helps you see past the pain and suffering to the next laugh, the next celebration.

Faith doesn’t have to be any one particular religion. It doesn’t have to be exactly like mine or yours to be wonderful and pure and true. It just needs to be believed in. It just needs to be hoped for.

Faith and hope has served humanity before you and I walked this earth and they will serve humanity long after you and I have breathed our last.

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

“Faith moves mountains, but only knowledge moves them to the right place…”
Joseph Gobbels

You can have all the faith in the world but if you take it to the wrong place, it is still the wrong place.

People use and abuse their power in different religions. Some encourage poor health decisions, some require giving up possessions and loved ones, and still others excuse literal abuse; all in the name of faith.

These people are wrong and should not have the power the wield.

Understanding the world and others around you will bring you to the right place every time. We can only win if we work together, regardless of creed or faith.

Do not let differences scare you. Learn about them. You do not have to believe in them but understanding what others believe in will help you understand them and how to interact with them.

Love. Compassion. Understanding. These are what is going to save the world; not forcing everyone to believe the same way as you. Be kind.

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

“Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right.”
Max Lucado

Having faith means trusting that things will turn out how they’re supposed to be.

Faith is not about entitlement or expectations.

Faith is giving some notion of control up; it’s allowing the universe/deity/higher power to do it’s/their thing – whatever that may be.

Because we don’t have power over everything. There are a lot of outside factors that we have no way of managing.

Do you have faith that things will turn out alright? Do you put effort into helping it along? How do you cope with not being able to manipulate everything in your environment?

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

“True faith manifests itself through our actions.”
Francis Chan

There are many who profess to believe in a particular religion and then behave completely at odds with the tenets of that faith.

A Hindu should not be abusive to animals. A Buddhist should not be a hedonist. A Christian should not treat others badly or judge them. A Wiccan should be mindful of the three-fold law – where all energy sent out will come back times three.

All very different moralities/priorities but also telling of the individual; after all, behaving in a way contrary to what you’re claiming is a type of deception, isn’t it?

Don’t claim to be something you’re not. If you’re actively trying to be better, that’s one thing. If you’re just ignorant or lying to yourself, you’ll have to answer for it eventually. Have some integrity.

I hope that you all find your paths. I hope that you discover something that calls to your soul. I hope that the very best can be brought out in every one of you.

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

This phrase is known as the “Golden Rule”. Most cultures and the majority of religions have had some version of this. Here are just a few examples:

Hinduism: The Mahabharata asks believers to avoid doing to others what you do not wish for yourself.

Confucianism: “Do not do unto others what you do not want done to yourself.” Analects

Judaism: Rabbi Hillel said, “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow.”

Christianity: Matthew 7:12 NIV “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do unto you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”; Luke 6:31 NIV “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Wicca: The Wiccan Rede ends with, “…An’ it harm none, do what ye will.”

Neo-Paganism: The Threefold Law says that all energy put forth into the universe will come back times three.

We should treat other people the way we would prefer to be treated. It would make the world a much better place to live in.

Now, don’t be a doormat – but smile, share when you can, help out your neighbors and friends and family, be a decent human. I don’t care what you believe, being kind is free.

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

“Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are. It depends solely on what you think.”
Buddha

Material items cannot bring joy; the gratitude for receiving them does. Money cannot buy happiness; it can smooth the way but by itself cannot do much more than that.

A destitute person can easily be happier than a rich one. They tend to appreciate the smaller things in life. The minutia that happens every day. A smile from a stranger, a meal, family, friends, pets, etc.

Those who are spiritual tend to thank their deity or deities for everything because they believe their god(s) or goddess(es) have brought it to their lives.

The way you think about life changes everything about you and the way you interact with the world. You can choose to be pessimistic, frustrated, envious, and lonely or you can be grateful, hopeful, positive, and connected.

Which do you choose?

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.

“A faith that cannot survive collusion with the truth is not worth many regrets.”
Arthur C. Clark

If your belief system cannot withstand challenge, it may be time to abandon it.

You can change your mind at any time. You do not have to go along with everyone else. You can worship any way that feels right to you. Faith should be very personal.

Shedding the past, walking away from toxic or negative situations, and trying new things will not ruin your life.

If people reject you just because you’re trying something out or leaving your religion, are they really friends or family? Should they really take up space in your life?

No one should be able to dictate to you what to believe or how to feel. You decide that. And only you can change it.

May you find peace & joy in all things. Faith brings peace. Gratitude brings happiness. Combine the two and the world is yours.
