Omaha Reformed Church A Church where the Ancient Truths Live! "Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness!" We believe what the Church has always believed.

We believe the Scriptures are sufficient and clearly teach what we need to know about God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this reason, we not only embrace the Ecumenical Creeds of the early Church (Apostles, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds), but also the historic summaries composed by leaders of the Protestant Reformation. These include the Three Forms of Unity: Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort. They are crystal clear summaries of what is taught in God's Word.

Omaha Reformed Church believes that proclaiming the Gospel of Christ is our singular task. We believe the Holy Spirit works faith in the hearts and lives of God's people by the preaching of the Holy Gospel.

Chief among the church's responsibilities is teaching, training, and discipling new believers in the fundamental truths of the Christian Church. For this reason, we not only want to see new converts, but we also want to see God's children "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18

This Lord's Day we will continue our study of 2 Samuel. We will continue this morning by considering Chapters 7,8, 9. Today's passage illustrates all the things God had done and was doing for David. God would make David's name famous, compared with many of the great men of the earth.
What we will see as our series continues is that God watches over and preserves David in the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. His life and failures validates the fact that as believers we are both counted as righteous and as sinners. Any and all of us are saved only because of God's grace and mercy.

This Lord's Day we will continue to our study of 2 Samuel. We will continue this morning by considering Chapter 7.
Today's passage focuses on David wanting to build God a house or a Temple to dwell in, and God in return telling David that He will Build David a house.
This "house will not be a place to live in, but rather a dynasty where his offspring will maintain a lineage far into the future... in fact, this promise includes the coming Messiah: Our Lord Jesus Christ.
