O precious and wonderful banquet, that brings us salvation and contains all sweetness! Could anything be of more intrinsic value? Under the old law it was the flesh of calves and goats that was offered, but here Christ himself, the true God, is set before us as our food. What could be more wonderful than this? No other sacrament has greater healing power; through it sins are purged away, virtues are increased, and the soul is enriched with an abundance of every spiritual gift. It is offered in the Church for the living and the dead, so that what was instituted for the salvation of all may be for the benefit of all. Yet, in the end, no one can fully express the sweetness of this sacrament,
~Thomas Aquinas.
Happy Corpus Christi Solemnity dearly beloved in Christ.

Food for thought from Father Festus

Evening come, morning come, it is June. No matter how fast the year appears to be moving, we are all Victors! Believe it and keep up good spirit and effort. Let love make the world to keep going round.
You are blessed! It is warm enough for Fr. Festus, I hope it is not too warm or hot for you😂

Brethren, GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE since the time before the Word took flesh (how long I do not know), as seen in the Old Testament. Deut.6:4 etc. He manifested himself in clouds and mountains. From the First Reading from Exodus 34: 4b-9. He revealed himself as merciful and saving, slow to anger, faithful and all that qualities humans want in their God. But humans experienced Him from ‘OUTSIDE’, as if they are standing by the ocean edge peering into the horizon and not knowing God’s INNER LIFE/BEING. This is GOD THE FATHER observed in created things more of.

Then, of GOD THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, it was a time when God now manifested himself. The Gospel from John 3:16ff, talked about God’s abundant and extravagant love that made him to GIVE his only Son. It is as if he stepped out from the clouds and was touched and seen die on the cross for humanity. We are to believe in Him and be saved. He further closed the distance when the Holy Spirit was left in the world to continue to give life of Grace to all. Hence, we can say that:
-The Father is the Creator and the Source of life.
-The Son (Jesus) is the Redeemer who became human, died, and rose again.
-The Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier who lives inside believers to guide and comfort them.

Happy Holy Trinity Solemnity and also last day of May.
May the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all, now and for ever!!!

-Father Festus

_... he (The Holy Spirit) will be my witness. And you too will be witnesses,
because you have been with me from the outset.‘I have told you all this that your faith may not be shaken.
They will expel you from the synagogues,
and..._ Jn. 15:26-16:2)_

The Power of the Holy Spirit makes Jesus disciples abandon themselves to him. Even when they have space to think or feel a bit like 'willing agents', they are positive about their track of the journey of life and the stops in it. At such points or under such spirit, little progresses matter more than failures. Even the whole gamut of failures are seen as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks.

That is the same spirit we need as Christians when the Spirit calls you to witness to the Gospel. The witness path may take various modes but identify yours. The whole apostles, except for St. John, witnessed up to shedding their blood. It was same with St. Paul. They kept counting their progresses in spite of the 'driving outs and rejections'

There will be many voices or situations discouraging you like persecutions. They will try to drive you out of the witnessing path you already identify. There will be voices like, 'why do you have to wake up early everyday to call your family for prayers or daily mass; why your time, your money in a routine manner, why this, why that. ..
Do not listen to that! Go on anyway because the Spirit will be there with you. There lies your joy, fulfillment and eternity.

A blessed working week I wish you!
Fr. Festus

Wise words of wisdom for Mother’s Day.

Mothers are moulders. Christian Mothers make it more meaningful with moulding of minds for God. A good moulder cannot be a murderer, hence Christ hearts you all on this years Mothers' day. Thank you, be happy and give God the glory for your motherly successes.
