Hi everyone, my 4-Her, Ally, is currently working on her Diamond Clover project.
I apologize, as it is a little long, but below is her letter about part one of her two part project, for you to read. We have a bunch more letters to get out there yet but with the chaos of summer weโre a little behind schedule. If you take the time to read, share, donate, we appreciate it all. Without our community, Ally would not be able to take on this project.
Dear Community Member,
My name is Ally McVay and I am a member of the Cranberry Clovers. I have been a 4-H member over 10 years and I am a teen leader of my club as well as treasurer. I focus on projects such as recreation, wildlife and small animals. Outside of 4-H, I enjoy helping with younger kids at church, volunteering at Hope 21 and spending time with my family and animals.
I am currently completing my Diamond Clover Project. The Diamond Clover Award is the highest achievement program within Pennsylvania 4-H and encourages youth to identify a community need, develop a plan, lead a meaningful service project, and create a lasting impact within their
community.
For my 2 part project, Hope in Every Bag, my first goal is to help local children and families by collecting and distributing shelf stable foods and essential items while also helping educate families on creating simple meals and snacks using these resources. My hope is to reduce food insecurity while showing families that support and hope can come from their community. This project is designed to grow beyond a one time event and continue helping families in the future through ongoing community involvement and partnerships. I am currently seeking donations of both items and monetary contributions to help make this
project successful. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will directly support local children
and families.
