Chinese authorities arrested six Christians in Guizhou Province after accusing them of organizing activities for minors through Sunday school classes, family worship gatherings, and Christian teaching.

According to reports, the believers were charged with “organizing minors to disrupt public order,” a charge critics say is being applied to peaceful religious activities rather than acts involving violence or public unrest.

Religious freedom advocates warn the arrests are part of a broader crackdown on Christianity in China, where officials have increasingly restricted children’s participation in religious education and closely monitored unregistered churches.

The case has drawn international attention because the gatherings reportedly involved families worshipping together and teaching children about the Christian faith.

At the same time, reports indicate Chinese authorities continue to push the government’s “Sinicization” campaign, which seeks to align religious organizations more closely with Communist Party ideology and state-approved values.

Despite growing persecution, many Christians in China continue meeting, worshipping, and sharing the Gospel.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:10, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Please pray for believers in China, for protection over pastors and families, and for courage for those who continue following Christ despite

This is from a Pastor Greg Locke whose son died recently. Several in our church have lost sons--including us, (Clairann and Calvin) and I thought his thoughts on how the grieving process was inspirational--so I thought I would share it.

What Grief Is Teaching Me…
(Two Weeks Since My Son Went Home)
Two weeks ago today, our family stepped into a valley we never chose to walk. The pain is still raw, the ache is still deep, and life feels quieter than I ever imagined it could. But even here — especially here — God has not left me without comfort or instruction.
In the midst of this sorrow, He has been teaching me truths I could only learn in this place. Here are seven things grief is pressing into my heart:
1. God is closer than my pain.“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” (Job 42:5)His nearness has been more real than the hurt.
2. The depth of grace.“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)Grace is not shallow. I’m learning how deep it truly goes.
3. Hold loosely what I once held tightly. Some things I gripped with everything in me have had to be surrendered back into the hands of a faithful Father.
4. Compassion I could never learn in comfort.Grief has broken my heart open in ways that allow me to truly weep with those who weep.
5. The power of lamentation! There is something holy about honest lament. God is not offended by our tears — He meets us right there in them.
6. The weight of eternity. This world is not our home. Heaven has never felt closer, and the things that matter most for eternity now carry far greater weight.
7. Resurrection always follows crucifixion. The cross was never the end of the story. Sunday is coming.
I’m not sharing this because I have it all figured out. I’m sharing it because I’m learning — mostly through tears — to trust Him even when I don’t understand. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, reached out, and walked with us these past two weeks. Please keep lifting our family up.
We miss our son deeply, but we do not sorrow as those who have no hope. He is with Jesus, and one day we will be too.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)...

Today, Memorial Day, is when we as a nation and individuals honor those who gave their lives in service for this country. While we do not wish for war--the truth is we must stand for freedom where and when we are able to do so--especially in protection of our own nation and people. We ask God's mercy on our servicepeople, and we ask that those who are the Lord's people living in those nations who need freedom, can be liberated so that the Word of God can have an open door... we are thankful that Christ laid down His life, for all people in all nations..

I received this message from Samaritan's Purse this morning--pray for them and the people they minister to.

Airlifting Aid to Help Stop the Spread of Ebola
Dear ‍Friend,

As Ebola spreads in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Samaritan's Purse is airlifting vitally needed personal protective equipment and a specialized treatment center to the central African nation. The treatment center is an Emergency Field Hospital uniquely adapted to care for the needs of Ebola patients and protect those treating for them.

In addition to supplying equipment and materials, we have a team of doctors, nurses, and medical personnel on the way to help prevent infection and spread of the deadly Ebola virus. The current response will be similar to our 2018 deployment to the same nation in which we treated more than 600 patients.
