Your kids are watching what following Jesus looks like at home. So let them see you pray. Tell them what God showed you in Scripture. Let them hear you say, “I was wrong. Will you forgive me?” Pray over them before they walk out the door.

You don’t have to model perfection. Let them see an authentic life that keeps pursuing Jesus. 🙌🏽

You have probably talked yourself out of inviting someone to church before you ever gave them the chance to answer.

“They probably wouldn’t come.”
“They might think I’m being weird.”
“I’ll ask another time.”

Now imagine that same person has quietly been wondering about God. Maybe life has been heavy lately. Maybe they have been looking for community. Maybe they would actually come, but walking into an unfamiliar church alone feels like too much.

You cannot know until you ask. 👀

Sharing your faith does not always begin with having all the right words. Sometimes it looks like caring enough about someone to risk a slightly awkward conversation and simply say, “Want to come with me?”

Think of the person you have been meaning to invite. This might be a good time to finally send the text.

On Saturday, September 19th, we’re showing up at the Denbigh Day Festival & Parade, and y’all, this is what being the Church is all about.

We’re getting outside the walls of our building and into our community to serve families, make some people smile, build real relationships, and show Newport News the love of Jesus in practical ways.

There’s a spot for you, from the parade and festival booth to hospitality, prayer, setup, and more. Grab your people, jump on a team, and let’s serve our city together!

Your family's schedule can be full and still be filled with the wrong things. Work, sports, phones, hobbies, streaming, extra commitments - none of those things are automatically bad! But good things can become distractions when they leave no room for what matters most.

That's why it's worth asking the Holy Spirit a real question: Is something good keeping our family from something greater? 🙏🏽

You don't have to say yes to everything just because you can fit it on the calendar. Sometimes, loving God and loving each other well means deciding what doesn't belong in the bag anymore.

Quick family meeting: do we have a clear mission? 🤔

Seriously, though. Between work, school, deployments, PCS moves, practices, dinner, laundry, and everything else life throws at us, it’s really easy for a family to get busy without ever deciding where we’re headed.

So what’s the mission of your home? Maybe that’s a conversation worth having around the dinner table this week.

As for us, we’ll keep coming back to this:

Love God.
Love each other.
Love the world.

That’ll preach at church, but it works pretty well at home, too. 🧡

When your spouse says something sideways, you don't have to return fire. In fact, sometimes the best thing you can do for your marriage is take the argument to the prayer closet first. Give God room to sift your motives, deal with what's happening in your own heart, and shape the way you respond. 🙏🏽

Because words can cause casualties. Sarcasm, contempt, the cold shoulder, keeping score, or dragging an old failure into a new argument slowly erodes the relationship you're trying to protect.

Marriage isn't me versus you. It's us facing whatever is trying to keep us from becoming who God has called us to be. 🧡

Most people aren't ignoring God. They're just carrying something nobody else can see. That's why following Jesus isn't only about what happens on Sunday. It's about how we treat people when no one is paying attention.

We tend to think making a difference requires a platform or a microphone, but the Kingdom has always grown through ordinary people who chose to love well in ordinary moments.

This week, try this instead of waiting for a "big opportunity." 👇🏽

Text someone who has been on your mind and ask how they're really doing. Pray for the coworker who always seems overwhelmed instead of only thinking about them. Look your cashier, server, or neighbor in the eye and treat them like someone made in the image of God instead of another person you'll forget in five minutes.

Faithfulness has never been measured by how loud your faith is. It's measured by whether you're willing to live it when nobody is watching. 🧡
