Our early, praise service, begins in our chapel at 8:45 a.m., and our traditional worship service begins at 11:00 a.m. We have a variety of Sunday School classes at 9:45, with nursery care available at all of these times. Being Christian involves being shaped by the language of the Christian tradition, including the Bible as the foundation of the tradition. Some people in this church understand Christian language quite literally and factually. Others understand it more symbolically and metaphorically. What we share is a common passion for the more-than-literal meaning of the stories and teachings that shape us.

Happy Labor Day Friends,
I hope you are enjoying this extra day off. Yesterday we started the series “Words Matter” and we spent time talking about “Responding to the Word.”

"Responding to the Word” emphasizes that our faith is more than just belief - it’s about living out the Word of God in our daily lives. We all know the phrase "To be doers of the Word and not only hearers” we live out our faith by caring for those in need, and letting our actions reflect our faith.

For those of us that may have difficulty verbally sharing our faith, letting our actions speak for themselves is a much easier way.

Dear Friends,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Thank you to everyone who joined us for worship and stayed for our “Getting Back on Schedule” lunch. A special thank you to the Nurture Committee, Gloria Moore and Susan Devane for providing such a wonderful meal. I’m sure no one went away hungry!
As we begin a busy new week, I pray you’ll take a few moments each day for prayer and Scripture. That time with God helps keep us grounded and centered when life gets busy.
There will be no “At the Table with Grace” dinner in September, but watch for information about our October gathering. And remember—you don’t have to wait for a church event to enjoy fellowship. Call a friend and go to dinner anytime!
I’ll be at Panera tomorrow from 8:00–9:30 a.m. as usual. Stop by if you’d like to talk.
