In today's first reading, we hear how the Holy Spirit appeared to the apostles "as tongues of fire." With the Holy Spirit filling them, they were able to share their teachings with many different nationalities in their own tongues. Holy Spirit, fill us in the same way, so that others may see and come to know Jesus through us, if not by our words and language, then by our actions! Let the light of Christ shine through us and be visible to all who encounter us!

Welcome back to Tuesday with Therese! St. Therese of Lisieux, the patron saint of the TEC movement, wrote of her sister, Pauline, and their childhood:

"I told you once how it puzzled me that God did not give everyone the same amount of glory in Heaven... you sent me off to fetch one of Father's big glasses and made me put my little thimble by the side of it; then you filled them both up with water and asked me which I thought was the fuller. [...] That was the way you helped me to grasp how it was that in Heaven the least have no cause to envy the greatest."

Let us all open ourselves to God's graces, that we may be filled completely, no matter the kind of vessel we are. Therese, you who considered yourself most similar to the little thimble, pray for us!
