Central-St Matthew is a multi racial, multi ethnic, progressive church, where all people are welcome, regardless of race, gender, religious background, or sexual orientation.

Central St Matthew UCC was created when two historical New Orleans congregations, Central Congregational Church with its African-American heritage and Saint Matthew Evangelical and Reformed Church with its German heritage united to become Central-St Matthew United Church of Christ. CSM embodies the rich, cultural diversity that makes New Orleans unique. Our mission is to bring New Orleans together through loving God, embracing diversity and creating community.

Beloved community, join us this Thursday evening for our Weekly Lectionary Study as we continue reflecting through The Psalms.

This week’s scripture is Psalm 66:8–20, and our study theme is “The Joy in Serving God.”

Together, we will explore how joy is not simply found in what God has brought us out of, but in how we respond through faithful service, gratitude, testimony, and public witness. When we study Scripture together, we are strengthened to do the Greater Works Christ has called us to do.
