Young Catholic Students (YCS) was born in the 1920s in Europe. It grew on its own strength in different countries quite isolated from each other. After the Second World War, in 1946, the international coordination of International YCS was started: International YCS being an evangelization movement in and at the service of the student milieu, it wishes to bear witness to the Gospel values through t
he daily life and activities of students. We follow in Jesus' footsteps, primarily within school and university but also in society as a whole, struggling for justice and peace and paying heed to the real needs of the poor. YCS follows a proper pedagogy, starting from the reality, reviewing it on the basis of the Gospel and human common sense, taking the adequate and necessary action and reviewing this process again (see - judge - act - reflect - and act again). However, this pedagogy, this education, is less a method and more a style of living in this world, and more a way to understand each other, and understand the reality, more a style of spirituality. International Young Catholic Students (IYCS) is an International Catholic Organization, recognized by the Holy See. We are active participants in the mission of the Church, we confess our faith in Jesus Christ, Lord of History, who is a permanent source of conversion for the Church as a whole. YCS is an international movement, present in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America and the Pacific with over 110 national movements. IYCS is decentralized for building a true internationality in the movement. Annually there is an International Coordination Meeting, which brings together regional representatives from the 7 regions and the international team in order to evaluate and orient together the international dimension offers us a chance to promote solidarity, to share our joys and concerns, to undertake significant action and a common search. We discover the universality of the message of the Gospel through dialogue between cultures.
