☀️ Families from Resurrection gathered this past weekend for our annual Summer Family Pool Party at the Hartnett’s home! It was an afternoon filled with swimming, good food and treats and quality time together. We’re already looking forward to next year’s pool party!

With great joy, we welcomed four children into the visible church through baptism this Sunday: Harper, Inez, Jacob, and Henry. We praise God for His covenant promises and were delighted to celebrate this special day with their families.

Baptism is a sign and seal of God’s covenant of grace, pointing to our union with Christ, the forgiveness of sins, and the new life we have in Him. It is a sacrament Christ gave to His church and one that continues to testify to His faithfulness from generation to generation.

This Sunday was especially meaningful as we were blessed to witness both believer’s baptism and infant baptism, reflecting God’s work among His people. Please join us in welcoming Harper, Inez, Jacob, and Henry into our church family!

On Sunday we celebrated this incredible group of students completing our 12-week confirmation class! We are so proud of their commitment to learning, growing, and deepening their faith.

Throughout these past weeks, students studied:
• The nature and attributes of God
• The Gospel story
• The Apostles’ Creed
• Scripture, prayer, and the sacraments
• The Ten Commandments
• The Church and the Great Commission

They participated in weekly discussions, homework assignments, Scripture and creed memorization, service opportunities, conversations with their parents about faith, and a special Q&A with Rev. Ben Cunningham.

A huge thank you to our amazing teachers and volunteers who poured into these students each week: Holly Vinson, Forrest and Ashley Johnston, Josh and Ashley Euper, Rob and Shelby Still, Ja’el Mahoney, and Jared Carlson and to Melissa Skinner for writing the curriculum.

Thank you, church family, for continuing to pray for and encourage these students as they grow in their faith journey.

Yesterday, healthcare professionals from Resurrection and students with the New Orleans Christian Medical & Dental Association gathered for a Christian Healthcare Professional’s Oath Ceremony led by elder and physician Dr. Jeff Lackey.

Medical, PA, nursing, dental, and other healthcare professionals from Tulane, LSU, and beyond came together to dedicate their calling to serving others with compassion, integrity, and Christ-centered care.

Thank you to Dr. Lackey and everyone who joined us for this special time of prayer and commitment as these professionals care for our community!

Last night at Wednesday church we shared a meal together, worshipped through song, heard a scripture reflection on Work and Rest from Proverbs and listened to a panel from three members at Resurrection on how work and rest play out in their lives. Work is a gift, as was the time shared last night!
