POCKET BLESSINGS ZINES just in time for Pride! Download 8 pocket-sized zines, each one a collection of blessings for a different piece of q***r and trans experience. Share them widely and freely, and remember that these blessings should never be for sale, but always gladly gifted.

Q***r and trans people need to be spoken to right now, in specific words about their specific lives. And there are hundreds of congregations across our movement who want to do that but don't have the bandwidth to create the resources themselves.

So Foothills acted as the hub, gathered 20+ contributors, built the zines, and put them out for free with customizable back covers so any congregation can slap their logo on and hand them out as their own.

Shout out to Katie W., who not only wrote a blessing but ended up helping create the entire design language for the zines. The look and feel of this collection exists because she stepped in.

People are already folding them, already planning which ones to bring to which events, already figuring out how to get them into more hands. That's the whole idea.

Download your own set at the link in the comments or in our Bio. If you'd like a version with your own congregation's logo and name on the back cover, email Rev. Sean at [email protected] and he'll share the editable document with you.

New Orleans faith leaders in action.

More than 50 New Orleans faith leaders crowded into Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Rampart Street Tuesday and did something rare for a city where religion and politics rarely share a pulpit.

We are strong against this wrong.

We are strong against this wrong.

We send our unwavering support for Unitarian Universalists (UU) in uniform and our UU military chaplains. We recently learned the Department of Defense (DOD) has removed 180 separate religious affiliations from the US military’s list of religious affiliation codes. This eliminates the code for Unitarian Universalists, as well as Humanists, Atheists and Pagan traditions, and many others. Along with dozens of other religious traditions, UUs will be categorized broadly under “Other” in military’s religious affiliation codes.

Please note this decision does not directly impact the status of our UU military chaplains, who are authorized through a separate faith-based endorsement process with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). What it does mean is that Unitarian Universalist service members will not be able to select their specific religious identity in their personnel records. This may make it more difficult for our uniformed UUs to access the spiritual care that they need.

At this time, we are diligently working with our UUA counsel and partners in a variety of faith traditions to craft a strategic response that faithfully represents our values and demonstrates clear support for our UU service members and their families, as well as all those who are impacted by this DOD policy.

We will share more information when it is available. But today, we declare that no government action can erase our faith nor lessen the powerful and necessary grounding it provides for those who serve.

Freedom of religion?

This restructuring of faith codes, which help identity service members as well as the military in planning for appropriated religious coverage to include them, has now excluded minority faith/worldview groups including Atheists, Asatru, Deists, Druids, Eckankar, Heathens, Humanists, Magick, New Age churches, Pagan, Rosicrucianism, Shaman, Spiritualists, Troth, Unitarian Universalists and various Wiccans.

Defense Secretary Hegseth previously announced the change due to an "impractical" system.

Blessed people of faith, community, and love.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the joy, resilience, and beauty of LGBTQIA+ communities.

In "The Q***r Beatitudes," Tim Atkins (also known as Sister Sweet Suffering Tea of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence) offers this blessing:

"Blessed are we, the whole q***r family,
for love is our birthright, and joy is our inheritance."

May we continue building a world where every person can live, love, and flourish as their full self. 🌈
