Prelude

This is the Day that the Lord Made, Let Us Rejoice and Be Glad in it! (Psalm 118:24)

HYMN 328 Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place

PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP

Today, we gather to join our voices with winds and seas, sunshine and rain, mountains and grassy plains to worship God, our Creator.

We gather as children of God, stewards of God’s creation.
We gather to join our hearts with creatures who creep and crawl, slither and squirm, swim and soar, to worship God, our Creator.

We gather as children of God, stewards of God’s creation.
We gather as witnesses of the harm that has been done to God’s creation, to the groanings of the earth and all the earth’s inhabitants who long for peace and flourishing.

We gather as children of God, stewards of God’s creation.
Come, let us worship God who strengthens and equips us, guiding us to live out our faith as good stewards of God’s good creation.

Come, let us worship God who inspires and empowers us to be stewards of hope and redemption in a wounded and hurting world! Amen.

OPENING PRAYER (Unison)

God of grace and love, We rely on Your love extended to us in all ways and at all times, extravagantly and with generosity. We live day by day knowing that Your care and concern is poured out for us in Your provision for our needs and beyond our imagining. You entrust us with the gift of the good news of the Gospel and invite us to be partners in the sharing of the message of grace. Day by day, we realize the many gifts lavished upon us. We come to You to acknowledge and praise You for all Your goodness to us. Amen.

HYMN 328 Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place

PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP

Beloved, this is the core of our faith: nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Thanks be to God!
God’s never-ending love surrounds us and calls us, assuring us that through God’s love, all things will work together for God’s good purposes.

Thanks be to God!
God’s never-breaking love empowers us in the face of temptation, distress, division, and scarcity to hold onto our faith and work together for the flourishing of all God’s good creation.

Thanks be to God!
Come, let us worship God who is Love, trusting that through joy and sorrow, happiness and despair, contentment and pain, Love will carry us through.

Thanks be to God who forms, connects, and guides us through Love. Amen.

OPENING PRAYER (Unison)

God, Your extravagant love has called us together. Long before we even knew You, You already knew us, and had chosen us to be part of Your own family— sisters and brothers with our Lord Jesus Christ Himself. What amazing love You have shown toward us! And so we come before You with praise and thanksgiving, offering You the worship of our hearts and lives, and opening ourselves to the prompting and leading of Your Holy Spirit. Receive our worship—our praise and prayers and offerings— through the intercession of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. May the time we spend here in Your presence bring honor and glory to Your Name. Amen.
