Prayer Request from Rich - Hey everyone, don't post a lot about the broader ministry/personal efforts, but felt the need to ask for prayers from you all. This week I took a week off from the "real job" (No, I'm not living big on ministry donations. While we greatly, greatly appreciate our dozen or so recurring partners, but there has never been a thought or potential of it covering actual living expenses.
VEGETABLES OF THE SPIRIT
This week I am in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois for the Write to Publish conference, as I am taking a book project "off the shelf" (sorry). I had an agent, was speaking in several states, and thought "Vegetables of the Spirit: The Bible's Forgotten Fruit" was a year or two from bookstores.
God had other plans, and I'm thankful because the idea is SO SO MUCH BETTER than it was a decade ago, when I put it on hold due to having a son in junior high who I did not want to miss the limited number of weekends we had left together before he left the state for college.
Pray for God to open doors to the right conversations, and for to find that balance between embracing the opportunity, and making sure it's not an opening that I'm smashing into the wall! At this time still praying about traditional publishing or self publishing, but hope to have a final decision by late summer.
Prayers - and questions - welcome for all aspects. Here's a brief synopsis: "Few lists are as popular as the Bible's fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22, but reading other Scripture makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is not limited to the 9 traits Paul shares with the Galatians, and some of the traits shared elsewhere are not nearly as popular as these top 9. Risk, Greatness, and Boldness are just 3 traits that while perhaps uncomfortable to some, are central to any hope of a thriving Christian life... especially life to the full!"
Vegetables of the Spirit will NOT replace Christian Movie Central, but I will occasionally keep you updated as I believe there is enough overlap that I hope some of you will come along with me in the full journey of where God is calling me, not just the theaters.
