Today is day 150 and therefore there are 215 days left in the year. But what does a day matter when in 2 Peter 3:8 "… a day is like a thousand years … Does that truly mean 1,000 years or just shows us that God transcends time? Sometimes I wonder where my week has gone and other days it seems one day drags out to 48 hours. In the end, though, what matters is that we are good stewards of our time as we serve Our Father with the gifts He has given us. He will give us endurance as we persevere in the journey He has put in front of us. He will light our path in the dark world as we look forward to His return.

Around the corner is Memorial Day which is held on the last Monday of May. It is to honor fallen service members of the US military. How can you honor it? Take a moment of silence at 3 pm, get involved in local activities, display a flag at half-staff from sunrise to noon, and decorate a grave of those who have died during service. Some say it is not appropriate to thank a service member for their service but to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As the story goes, Mother’s Day officially began as a tribute to one woman. A daughter created a day that would honor her and moms as a group. Tomorrow is that celebration.

Sometimes I ponder upon waking up … what can I do for God today? In a recent Charles Stanley devotional he said, "Don't underestimate what God is doing in your seemingly ordinary day, whether that involves volunteering in your community, loving a new neighbor, caring for someone in need, or offering a listening, compassionate ear. You may not think these are important work, but they most certainly are. What you say to people, how you treat others, and the way you handle adversity are like stored-up treasures – God uses these things to reveal Himself to the World." That gave me renewed energy when I think … what does it matter what I do. It matters to God.

While driving around, enjoying the beauty of seeing green and flowers sprouting up, I thought about when I was younger and had jump in my step. 😊 As I age, I'm glad to get a step and be stable on my feet ….
