Catholic Grandparents Association. FIRST MEETING: Fri. Feb. 20th at 2PM in our school 41S. Market St. Mt. Carmel, Pa. All invited
" TO HELP GRANDPARENTS PASS ON THE FAITH AND TO KEEP PRAYER AT THE HEART OF FAMILY LIFE" We are delighted to welcome you to the Catholic Grandparents Association. Thank you for taking this most important step in committing to passing on your faith to future generations. Now that you are part of our worldwide association, you will be connecting with grandparents both nationally and internationally, helping, supporting and valuing each other in this great task. Each and every one of you makes a vital contribution to our families, our church and society. We grandparents have no agenda; they simply want the best for their grandchildren, they want them to be good, decent human beings who know the difference between right and wrong, who are able to make good, moral decisions and, if they go astray along the way, who are able to find their way back to a loving, forgiving, non-judgemental God.At the heart of the CGA is the firm belief that this is our duty, our responsibility, our vocation and we must do what we can. This is the most important job we will ever have, this is the one role from which we can never retire in this world or the next, so let us do our very best, we owe it to our Grandchildren. The CGA exists to support you in this work of passing on our faith and keeping prayer at the heart of the family. Pope Benedicts XVI Universal Prayer for Grandparents, which was composed especially for us at our request. We encourage you to pray this every day remembering the needs of Grandparents everywhere. Please be assured that as a member of The CGA your intentions are included in 24hr prayer, daily Masses and candle lighting. Kindly remember us in your prayers so that the Holy Spirit will continue to inspire, guide and strengthen us we journey forward together passing on our beautiful gift of faith to our Children and our Grandchildren. May Joachime and St Anne, Parents of Mary, Grandparents of Jesus, bless you, your children and your grandchildren, all the days of your life. With every prayerful wish Founder of The Catholic Grandparents Association Posted by Msgr. Frank Karwacki

PASSWORDS FOR HEAVEN by Fr. Frank Karwacki
A couple arrived at the Pearly Gates and found St. Peter sitting at a large desk filled with computers and computer screens. St. Peter said to the couple “Welcome, you may notice that we have gone in the direction of advanced technology so before I can tell you whether you will enter I am going to need your passwords and you may use the one you used most frequently on earth. Please type them in the computer keyboard I set before you”. They put them in and St. Peter said, “I am sorry they don’t match anything we have stored in our celestial computer. We store everything in the cloud and it is strange we don’t have them. If you can remember any pin codes or numbers you received in your lifetime please put those in our computer. So we can check with the cloud.” Then St. Peter says, “I am sorry nothing matches and you must very disappointed and frustrated because you know your eternal destiny hinges on having the correct passwords and pin numbers and codes.” St. Peter says ‘I will try to help you one more time by looking in our spam box” St. Peter came back and said, “I am so very, very sorry but nothing was recorded there also.. And it looks like were you are going you will be feeling a lot of heat.” Suddenly Jesus appeared with a whip in His hands and said to St. Peter, “Just like I cleaned out the temple I say to you get these computers out of here and you know just like on earth they are always crashing and I know this couple & they know me and they have been faithful in worship and in seeking my forgiveness and I welcome them in and they will be free from computers and passwords for all eternity”.

THE GREAT FEAST OF PENTECOST-NOT ONCE AND DONE!
By. Rev Frank Karwacki
Pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel
And the Bishop’s Liaison for Charismatic Renewal
The great feasts of our faith include Christmas, Easter and Pentecost which is on May 19th this year. The Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday said to his apostles after breathing on them, “Receive the Holy Spirit,”, and then said to them, ”Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, if you hold them bound they are held bound.” In this mini-pre-Pentecost event He gave to them who were the first appointed leaders of the early church the power to pass on His forgiveness. How were they to decide whom to forgive or whom to hold bound? Would they use race or nationality? Of course not but obviously they needed to listen to the sinner to discern if they were sincere. There was another pre-Pentecost event when Jesus died on the cross. In the gospel of John it says, “He breathed out His Spirit.” He was not simply exhaling carbon dioxide but passing on the Holy Spirit. Then 50 days after His resurrection came the great event of Pentecost. Still huddled in the upper room and still paralyzed by fear even though they had seen the risen Lord suddenly experienced the strong driving and purifying wind of the Holy Spirit driving out the fears and then the fire of the Holy Spirit resting upon them and filling them with the charismatic gifts such as healing, speaking in tongues, prophecy and discernment. Pentecost is not a one and done event you received at your baptism when you received the Holy Spirit to dwell in your soul. No, as we seek to surrender more and more to the Lordship of Jesus the work Holy Spirit which had become dormant within us because of our immaturity and complacency now comes alive and is released in us
And we begin to experience more and more the fruit and the charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit. In the 1970’s when I was a school teacher I attended a “Life-in the Spirit Seminar at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel and was “Prayed Over” with the laying of hands on my head for the release of the power of the Holy Spirit within me by the now deceased Fr. Michael Barret originally from Centralia. Up to that point I, who went to church faithfully and was reading the bible daily was at the same time shy about sharing the faith with others. After the release of the of the power Holy Spirit within me I became the leader of the charismatic prayer meeting at St. John’s and to make a long story short I have been ordained a priest for 41 years and now am the Bishop’s Liaison for Charismatic Renewal. Fr. Michael Barret who prayed over me was the first liaison for the bishop for Charismatic Renewal for our diocese. . Bishop Daley had heard there were these prayer meetings going on in Harrisburg and sent Fr. Barrett to go incognito to the meeting to check it out. Fr. Barrett went and was prayed over and got zapped by the Spirit and began to exercise the charismatic gifts and then Fr. Barrett prayed over on me that 5th night of the seminar. Pentecost is not one and done!

The prophet Malachi in the Old Testament says speaking for God on how the people called their animal sacrifices to God a burden, you say "What a burden!". May our offering of Jesus in the sacrifice of the Mass for our Sunday obligation never be considered a burden! Fr Frank Karwacki
