What a week at Illumination Station VBS! Tonight we celebrated the end of an incredible week with 48 pizzas, a Bible story reenactment, a pie in Skyler’s face, lots of laughter, and the joyful announcement that we exceeded our $7,000 mission goal for Operation Christmas Child!

Most importantly, we lifted our voices and sang our hearts out to Jesus, the Light of the World, because His light shines brightly within us.

Thank you to every person who made this week possible—the snack team, custodians, bus drivers, greeters, teachers, decorators, sound and media team, prayer warriors, registration helpers, and countless volunteers working behind the scenes. A great big THANK YOU to Pastor Amanda and Kristin - our church admin. Every act of service, whether seen or unseen, helped point children to Jesus and brought glory to God.

We are grateful for the children who came, the families who entrusted them to us, and a church family that faithfully serves together. As Scripture reminds us, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

To God be the glory for all He has done this week! 💡 📖🎶💕✝️

What a beautiful picture of generosity we have witnessed this week during VBS!

Our children have faithfully given toward Operation Christmas Child and have raised $2,500. Through the generosity of an anonymous church member, every dollar has been matched, bringing our total to an incredible $5,000 in just four days. We are overwhelmed with gratitude, but not surprised by God’s faithfulness.

King David understood that giving is both a privilege and an act of worship. As he prepared an offering for the work of the Lord, he prayed:
“But who am I, and what are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this?”Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:14

David recognized that every resource, every blessing, and every generous heart comes from God. We do not give because we have to—we give because He has first given to us.

Today, we are asking our church family to help us complete the mission. The cost to ship our 700 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes in 2026 is $7,000. We have already raised $5,000, leaving just $2,000 to reach our goal. Will you prayerfully consider making a gift today? Whether large or small, every dollar helps place a Gospel-centered gift into the hands of a child who may be hearing about Jesus for the very first time.

Let’s finish what our children started and together meet this need before 6:00 p.m. tonight. And if we reach our goal, Pastor Amanda has agreed to be pied in the face on the Sunday morning video!

What an amazing third day at VBS! Today our children discovered that Jesus is God’s Powerful Son as they learned about His miracles from Matthew 15:29-39. Through every lesson, craft, game, and song, they were reminded that Jesus has power over every situation and that He cares deeply for His people.

Our hearts are just as full as our mission thermometer! Thanks to the generosity of our VBS families, we raised $658.64 today for Operation Christmas Child. That brings our total to $1,104.95 toward our goal of $2,500!

Congratulations to our 3rd graders for earning second place in today’s giving challenge, and a big round of applause for our 5th graders, who claimed first place and had the sanctuary buzzing with excitement!

Every dollar given helps share the love of Jesus with children around the world through a simple shoebox gift. Thank you for helping us make an eternal impact.

And don’t forget—if we surpass our goal, Ms. Amanda and Skyler have agreed to take a pie in the face!

Today, some of our incredible high school students spent time serving a few local seniors while earning money toward their upcoming trip to CentriFuge Camp. These young men and women worked hard, carrying a carload of luggage up a flight of stairs for some very appreciative ladies.

We are so proud of their willingness to serve others with joyful hearts. Thank you to everyone who prays for and supports these students as they work toward this life-changing camp experience. May they continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever He leads them!

Whoohoo! VBS Illumination Station shined through day two!💡

Today’s “P” reminded us that Jesus is God’s PERFECT Son. Our Bible lesson came from Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:1-11, and John 1:29-34 as we learned about Jesus’ baptism and God’s declaration, “This is my beloved Son.”

We’re also celebrating progress toward our mission project for Operation Christmas Child! 📦🎄

It’s a beautiful day in Morehead City as we kick off Vacation Bible School at FBC-MHC!

This week, our children will journey through Illumination Stations as they discover more about Jesus—the Light of the World.

Today’s “P” is Promised. We are learning that Jesus is God’s Promised Son. In Matthew 16:13-20, Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter boldly answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

From the very beginning, God promised to send a Savior, and Jesus is the fulfillment of that promise. We are praying that every child who walks through our doors this week will come to know and trust Him as their Savior and Lord.

Join us in praying for our children, volunteers, teachers, and families as we shine the light of Jesus throughout our community this week!

Our mission focus this week is Operation Christian Child. Our goal is to raise $2500. We have a donor who has agreed to match dollar for dollar and if we reach the goal, our mission leader Skyler Wood will receive a pie in the face on Thursday. 🥧
