CHRISTMAS GIFTS for CHILDREN & SENIOR ADULTS

It’s ANGEL TREE TIME again! Yes, you read that right! Though it’s only October, the mission committee wants you to consider sponsoring one of the 25 children and 25 senior adults who need our love and support during this Christmas season. You might even want to join with another friend or family to sponsor “your angel.” Our Angel Tree will be in the sanctuary narthex throughout November, beginning 11/1. Angel cards are usually chosen very quickly so get yours ASAP. Gifts will be due between November 22 & December 3. More detailed information will be in the newsletter and weekly e-news during November.

Meet the Congregational Care Committee

What a joy it was to gather with members of our Congregational Care Committee! Our newly commissioned Care Teams shared stories of their visits and the meaningful connections they are making throughout our congregation. Together, we celebrated the many ways God is at work through this ministry and explored how we can keep growing in caring for one another.

This group is a wonderful example of what happens when people faithfully share their gifts in service to God and neighbor. Through visits, prayers, encouragement, and simply being present, they remind us that the church is not just a place we gather, but a community where we belong and care for one another.

If you or someone you know could use a visit, a listening ear, or a little extra support, please let us know. And if you are looking for a way to become more involved in the life of Spring Hill, consider joining the Congregational Care Committee or one of our many other committees doing meaningful work. There is a place for your gifts, and great joy in serving together!

It's Stewardship Month! Stewardship is not simply an obligation or a financial commitment; it is a joyful response to the love we have received and an opportunity to invest ourselves in the life and ministry we share.

Following worship on Sunday, the Holy Honkers led us out of the sanctuary for a celebration lunch. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fellowship, give thanks for the ministries we share, and celebrate the people whose generosity, service, and love make Spring Hill Presbyterian Church such a special community.

Post Church meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays each month. Starting with 5:30 fellowship time followed by discussion from 6:00-7. We will use the Wired Word and email the week's reading for those who would like to read beforehand. Tonight we will meet at Ice Box in Mobile, 755 Monroe Street.

Our scriptures, 1 Thessalonians 2:1–8 and Matthew 22:34–46, remind us that the heart of our faith is love: love for God, love for our neighbors, and love expressed through the generous offering of our lives. The sermon, “Joining God's Work with Joy,” will invite us to celebrate the privilege of participating in God's ongoing work of grace, compassion, and transformation. Stewardship is not simply an obligation or a financial commitment; it is a joyful response to the love we have received and an opportunity to invest ourselves in the life and ministry we share.

At the conclusion of worship, the Holy Honkers (Spring Hill Band) will lead us out, and you can place your pledge cards and time and talent sheets in the baskets, offering our commitments for the coming year as an expression of gratitude and faith. For those who have already completed their commitments online, dedication cards will be available in the sanctuary so that everyone can participate in this meaningful act of worship. Every gift, every commitment, and every act of service helps us continue the work God is calling us to do together.

The Stewardship Committee invites you to a Celebration Luncheon on October 25 following our worship service. Join us for a delicious hot lunch as we share where we believe God is leading us, celebrate our congregation's generosity and dedicate the coming year's ministry to God.

Art Soup, the annual fundraiser for Love All Pantry at Central, will be held on the evening of Thursday, November 5, at six o'clock, at the Maritime Museum on the riverfront, in downtown Mobile.

Trunk or Treat will be on Thursday, Oct. 29. Mark your calendar to pass out treats or bring your kids to have some fun! Trunks need to be set up by 4:30 PM. Hot dogs will be served and there will be a bounce house for the kids. We are collecting individually wrapped treats now in Susan Tomlinson's office!
