Dear Calvary Assembly of God Family,

We received an urgent text from Kathy Barnes and she is asking our church community to lift her up in prayer today.
Kathy is currently in Illinois (in the area between Danville and Champaign), where she has been working hard to update her late parents' home so it can be sold.
🌪️ The Situation:
The region is currently facing a threat of severe weather, with forecasters predicting dangerous, high-intensity tornadoes this afternoon. This area was just hit by a tornado last week, and today's storms are expected to be even more severe.
🛐 How You Can Pray:
For Kathy’s Safety: Pray for God's hand of protection over her, keeping her safe, calm, and secure throughout the storms.
For the Entire Region: Pray for the safety of everyone living in the Danville/Champaign area, and that the storms dissipate before causing harm.
For Peace: Pray for peace of mind for Kathy as she navigates this stressful situation away from home.

Church Family, we want to take a moment to honor and say a bittersweet farewell to some very special people in our Calvary Assembly of God family—Randy, Karen, and Jon Board.

This past Sunday was unexpectedly their last Sunday with us before they begin their next chapter, and we want to shower them with the love and send-off they truly deserve!

The Board family has left such a lasting mark on our church community:
Randy and Karen, your faithful presence and warm spirits have been an absolute joy.
Karen, thank you for your dedicated, powerful heart on our Prayer Team.
Jon, thank you for showing us your pure heart of worship.
Calvary will truly not be the same without you all, and we are going to miss you more than words can say!

Church Family, please join us in urgent prayer for our dear sister, Vicki Hackler, and her family. 🙏❤️

Yesterday, Vicki’s sister, Lennie, passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. While we rejoice in the blessed assurance that Lennie is now home with Jesus, Vicki and her family are navigating a season of profound grief. This heartbreak comes just a year and a half after the loss of Vicki's younger sister to an aneurysm, making this sudden loss incredibly heavy.

Vicki wanted to share this message with her church family: "I know she is in a better place, but my heart is so broken. I miss them both. I just wanted my church family to know. I love you all so much."

Vicki will be traveling to Maine for the funeral once the arrangements have been finalized. Let's wrap her, her brother, and their entire extended family in prayer during this deeply difficult time.

Please lift them up for:
Comfort in Expressed Grief: That the Holy Spirit, our Great Comforter, closely attends to their broken hearts (Psalm 34:18).

Safe Travels: For protection and peace over Vicki as she prepares to journey to Maine.

Erica Thompson, is having outpatient surgery tomorrow. While the procedure is routine, she shared that she is feeling a bit nervous as she prepares for tomorrow morning.
Let's surround Erica with our faith, love, and prayers today and tomorrow!

Please join us in praying for:
Perfect Peace: That the Holy Spirit calms every anxious thought and fills her heart with a peace that passes all understanding.

The Medical Team: That God guides the hands and minds of the doctors, nurses, and technicians caring for her.

Smooth Recovery: That the procedure goes perfectly and her body heals swiftly and completely.

Church Family Prayer Request: Grayson McCary (Grandson of Esther McCary)

Dear Calvary Assembly of God Family,
Please join us in urgent prayer for Grayson, the 5-year-old grandson of Esther McCary (Jordan’s baby boy). Grayson is celebrating his 5th birthday this Tuesday, June 16th, but is currently facing a difficult health battle.

He has been suffering from a persistent high fever for several days and has been readmitted to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. While tests last week ruled out COVID-19 and strep throat, doctors believe he is fighting a virus but have not yet identified it. They are currently running additional tests to find the cause.

How We Can Pray:
For Grayson: Pray for his fever to break, for complete healing and strength for his little body, and for comfort as he spends his birthday in the hospital.
For the Medical Team: Pray for wisdom and discernment for the doctors and nurses as they run tests, that they may quickly find answers and the right treatment.
For the Family: Pray for peace, comfort, and strength for Esther, Jordan, and the entire family during this stressful time.
Thank you, church family, for lifting Grayson up in prayer. We know that our God is the Ultimate Healer.

Prayer Request: Andrea Wilson

Please lift Andrea Wilson, up in prayer. She was recently admitted to the hospital after going to the ER feeling unwell. Doctors discovered that she is severely anemic with critically low blood counts. She will be hospitalized for the next few days to receive multiple blood transfusions while the medical team works to locate and stop the source of some internal bleeding. Please pray for the doctors' wisdom, for a swift and full recovery, and for peace for Andrea during this time.

Dear Calvary Assembly of God Family,

We have a very urgent and heavy prayer request from our sister, Mickie Wall. We are asking our church family to immediately unite in faith and cover her family in prayer.

Mickie’s niece, Joy (the daughter of her sister, Laverne), has been battling a rare and severe form of pneumonia for the past two months. Despite aggressive treatments—including multiple rounds of antibiotics, IV medications, and using oxygen at home—her breathing has continued to worsen. This afternoon, Joy had to be rushed back to the Emergency Room.

How We Can Pray Together:
For Joy’s Complete Healing: Ask the Great Physician to clear her lungs, stabilize her breathing, and grant the ER doctors supernatural wisdom to find the right treatment. We are believing for a quick, miraculous turnaround.

For Strength and Comfort for Laverne: Mickie’s sister, Laverne, is carrying an unimaginable amount of grief. Less than a year ago, she tragically lost both of her sons within just two weeks of each other. She desperately needs the peace of God to guard her heart and mind right now.

For the Entire Family: Pray for supernatural strength, peace, and comfort for Mickie and the rest of the family as they stand by the bedside.

Calvary family, let’s storm the throne of grace on behalf of Joy and Laverne. Thank you for standing in the gap and agreeing with us for a miracle.
