INTERCESSORY PRAYER

"Talk it Out Tuesday," October 13, 2026
Presiding: The Congregation

SUBJECT: "Live to Please the Spirit1"

SCRIPTURE: GALATIANS 6:8. Message Version
7-8 Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

SUMMARY:

The Book of Galatians includes instructions for how people who are free in Christ and walking by God's Spirit should treat each other, said Deacon Clifton Patterson

This passage reminds us that we "reap what we sow!" You can't plant potatoes and expect cucumbers to grow. "If you sow discord, discord is what you should expect in return, " said Patterson.

When we live to please the Spirit, we should expect good results. If we respect our physical bodies, eat nutritious food and drink ample water, get plenty of sleep, and eliminate excessive stress, we can expect a harvest of good health. If we are friendly, we will have friends. If we are generous, we will receive generosity in return.

This is true in every area of our lives, including health, finances, abilities, relationships, and everything else about our well-being. This is one of the simplest laws to understand and one that produces great power in our lives.

Power Thought: I live to please the Spirit and expect good results.
