I sincerely resolve to confess my sin, and you, o God, immediately forgive me. Having received divine forgiveness, I know I receive both safety and joy, so I fly to God’s grace to keep me, my soul, for heaven.

Ezekiel is commissioned as Israel’s watchman. He must sound the alarm of the danger of sin to Israel, in the hopes that they repent and come back to God. If Ezekiel fails to warn, he too will be removed from God.

Paul to the Christians in Rome: Be obedient in things lawful and honest. You are already being persecuted, don’t make it worse for yourself. The usurpation of power and the abuse of power are not of God. Love is a living active principle of obedience to the whole law. The whole law is written on the heart if the law of love is there.

Jesus exemplifies humility; cautions of offenses; and explains our duty: to love one another. God does not want any to perish, He cares for each and every one of us, and we are called to care for one another.

A psalm of prayer for the worshiping community that Jew and Gentile would worship as one flock, and that all peoples everywhere would praise God.

Encouragement to any Gentile willing to come under God’s Covenant and serve Him; they will be accepted by God.

Has God rejected His people? Their blindness may last until God’s work with the Gentiles is finished. Our job is to follow Jesus’ example: to love, care, show kindness, and compassion.

Jesus’ testing strengthened a Gentile woman’s faith. She showed wisdom, humility, meekness, patience, perseverance in prayer – all products of her faith.

God’s faithful love endures forever! O Give thanks! We have a glorious God! We are to notice and praise His mercy, His faithful love, forever.

This is a free and gracious invitation to all to come and take the benefit of gospel grace; success of this invitation is the inclusion of the Gentiles.

Paul’s great concern for the unbelieving Jews. Not all of Abraham’s flesh was given the Promise. Paul is justifying God and His mercy in calling the Gentiles and taking them into the Church, into a covenant relationship with Himself.

It’s not the miracle of the feeding of the 5000+, it’s the teaching of compassion and care Jesus taught the disciples. Jesus took care of the crowd, but He taught His disciples: Trust. Have faith. Through Me, you too can work miracles. Through Me you can care for others - feed them, heal them, help them. Trust Me.

In all I do, Lord: keep me, sustain me, build me, that I may accomplish Your Will.

The First and the Last, none but Me – Those who have the Word of God’s promise to depend on need not be afraid of any adverse powers or policies whatsoever.

I have faith that God’s Word is truth. I have faith that God will honor His promises. So I can hope (know, eagerly await… patiently) when the time comes, to be granted eternal life with Him. Oh, the comfort in knowing that even though we can’t put into words how our heart is feeling, God knows, for the Spirit tells Him.

There will be a mixture of good and bad in the gospel church, which will continue until the separation on Judgement Day. Pay attention. We are here to do God’s Will, to serve one another in love.

God is ready to give and forgive – more than we ask, more than we repent. The works of His mercy outshine all of His other works, and all His works shall praise His Name.

The promise of the Messiah was the stronghold of the faithful long before His coming. They saw that day in the distance – the consolation, the redemption, of Israel.

For those in Christ there is a conflict between grace and the corruption in the heart. Paul suffered too, you are not alone. Praise God for the saving grace of Jesus!

Thanksgiving that the Gospel was given to those who would learn and grow in love. We are welcomed to come to the humble, gentle, loving Jesus; to submit to him, taking his gracious easy yoke of service, to learn from him how to act, love, serve, and live.
