You're invited to join us for our Spring Picnic THIS Sunday, June 7 after worship.

This year at the church picnic, we invite everyone — all ages are welcome — to help assemble “Go Bags” for our neighbors served by Joyce Uptown Food Shelf. These bags will provide quick, easy-to-eat items for individuals and families who may be experiencing food insecurity or housing instability.

Together we will pack bags with items such as:
🍔Granola bars
🍞Beef jerky
🍅Ramen cups
💧Bottled water
🥛Shelf-stable milk
🌭Fruit leather
And other convenient snack items

Come lend a hand, share in the fun, and help us spread care and compassion to our neighbors through Joyce Uptown Food Shelf!

Pardon - Jesus included a line about forgiveness in the prayer he taught his disciples because getting right with each other is essential for our personal and communal wellbeing. Right relationship involves getting honest with God and with each other. Sometimes our prayers can simply be to let go of the resentment we feel and ask God to help us stop hurting others.

Protection - In his prayer template, Jesus draws on ancient Judeo-liturgical tradition from the Psalms of lament… “deliver us.” Just as his ancient Hebrew ancestors did before him, he calls on God to come, to stand with, to offer strength in time of trouble. The crowds then take on the chant, “save us” (hosanna) as Jesus processed along the entrance road to Jerusalem, hoping for justice. How does our prayer help us wrestle with the evil we experience in the world?

Each year, churches in the Minnesota Annual Conference take a Love Offering for missions in conjunction with our Annual Conference Session. The 2026 Annual Conference will take place June 16-18, 2026 at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, with a theme of “Created to Serve Joyfully,”

Our Love Offering is not simply charity, but a shared ministry, a way of joining God’s work in the world. Bishop Lanette Plambeck invites congregations to pray about and participate in the Love Offering. She shares, “This offering is more than a tradition. It is a tangible expression of our connectional life and our shared commitment to Christ’s mission. When we give, we participate in ministry that reaches far beyond what any one congregation could do alone.”

Your donations to the 2025 Love Offering totaled $89,489.88! How much can we raise this year?

How to support the Love Offering
Give to the offering through Lake Harriet UMC. Designate your offering as “Love Offering.” If possible, please give before the 2026 Annual Conference Session, taking place June 16-18. Thank you for your generosity. Together we can serve joyfully and join in God’s work in the world!

You can also give electronically at www.minnesotaumc.org/loveoffering.
