Milton Panther Packs Panther Packs is a ministry of St. Andrew's UMC of Milton, PA. We're striving to alleviate hunger among the elementary school students of our community.

Milton Panther Packs is an outreach ministry of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Milton, PA. This ministry was formed after a Lenten Bible Study urged church members to find a way to love and serve their community. The obvious need for school aged children to have food security over the weekends became the overwhelming message God laid upon numerous hearts. More than 50% of the elementary s

chool children within the Milton School District participate in the Free & Reduced School Lunch Program, meaning that many of them were also at risk for going hungry when not in school. Milton Panther Packs is stepping in to bridge that gap by stocking a pantry of non-perishable food items like oatmeal, boxed cereals, peanut butter, soup and canned fruits and vegetables. Once a month the committee meets to pack bags for every student enrolled in the program, providing them with enough food for meals and snacks over the weekend, for the entire school year. It is our goal to alleviate hunger so that these children can return to school ready to learn and not distracted by empty bellies.

**Ways to Support Panther Packs**

*Volunteer to help on Packing Nights:
“Sign-Up Genius” seeking 10 volunteers on Tuesday evening to set-up and 20 volunteers per packing night. This can help us guarantee we will have just the right number to help. (Link in comments)

*Thrivent Contributions:

*Orange Backpack:
St. Andrew’s Church members have found these orange bags helpful with successfully collecting specific items needed for upcoming packing nights. We can customize these bags for items your group would like to collect.

*Sponsor a Child:
35 weeks of the school year, we strive to provide a supplemental bag of weekend support food for children. These weekly bags contain: 2 Breakfast, 2 Entrees, 1 Fruit, 1 Snack and when available 1 Peanut Butter per month. Per Child, the yearly cost of these bags is approximately $200. Sponsoring a child can be done with a 1 time payment or split $20 a month for 10 months August - May.

Happy August 1st! Panthers Packs is off to the races to stock the pantry before school starts! Please consider one of the ways we have for you to help:

1. Sponsor a Child - $200 (or $20 monthly Aug-May)
2. Organize a food collection (ask for more details)
3. Mail a donation of any amount (102 Lower Mkt St - Milton)
4. Purchase items used (in date) from a local store and deliver.
5. Purchase from our Amazon Wish List (w/auto ship to church)

Watch for our volunteer "sign-up genius" coming soon... this year we will have 2 opportunities each month were volunteers will be needed.

Well... That's a WRAP on the 2025-2026 school year. I would like to say a huge thank you to EVERYONE that supported Panther Packs in ANY way this school year. Without every single one of you, this program, supporting the students in Milton Elementary Schools wouldn't be a success! Again, THANK YOU ALL!!!

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 6 is our final packing night of this school year. Anyone willing to volunteer an hour (6-7pm) is more than welcome! We have a number of regulars that have had unexpected commitments pop up as well as sports and end of year school events. Please consider helping make our final packing night a success!
