Simeon speaks these words of prophecy, as the baby Jesus is brought to the temple in Jerusalem for his presentation. The prophetess, Anna, in the background, gives thanks to God. We are reminded that she spoke to all about the redemption of Israel. Mary and Joseph hold a cage with two doves, their offering to redeem their firstborn Son, in fulfillment of Old Testament law.

Today, June 2nd, marks 137 years since our congregation adopted its constitution in 1889. Think of how much has changed and how much remains the same since those early days! Through our building projects, the addition of media and internet resources, pastoral and lay leadership, and generations of families who have strengthened our core, as well as new families who are joining and improving our lives each year, we are grateful for you. Emanuel Lutheran Church has stood strong in faith, education, and fellowship. May we continue to realize our blessings and hold true to our beliefs.

The Nave Windows - Window Five

"Unto you is born a Savior."
Luke 2:1-21 https://live.bible.is/bible/ENGESV/LUK/2

Mary, Joseph and the Infant Jesus, whose divinity is symbolized with a halo are depcited in this window. A star can be seen, reminding us of the coming of the wise men. Straw on the ground and sheep remind us of the Savior's birth in a stable.
