There are many ways to be involved with VBS over the next few weeks. Make plans to join us for some or all of these dates.

◾️May 31: We need your help to invite our community! Please join us as we distribute door hanger invites to the community following the morning service.
◾️June 6: We need help decorating the church for VBS! We get amazing decorations from our friends at Urbancrest. We need as many people as possible to decorate starting at 9am.
◾️June 7: We will have a volunteer training following the morning service. We will dive into all the components of VBS and have time for teams to plan. Lunch will be provided.

Join us next month at The Journey as kids explore the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals while discovering that Jesus is the light who brings hope to a dark world! Register now to learn more about the truth of who Jesus is and invite your friends and neighbors to join you.

VBS is FREE and open for all children ages 3 years thru completed 5th grade! Your kids will enjoy crafts, games, food, music, and more! Parents, grandparents, and older siblings: Don't forget to join us for our "Family Night" on Friday, June 12, for food and fun!

❤️💡Volunteer Spotlight: Ranae Bruck💡❤️

Ranae has served with Journey Kids for about 3.5 years. She has served faithfully twice a month in the nursery mostly at 11am since August 2025.

Ranae loves to teach kids to worship. In fact she says her favorite part of serving is "worship time with instruments and kids and trying to see if they are picking up any of God's characteristics." We believe no child is too young to learn about God. Ranae says she "sees God at work in what the kids are picking up, how they treat each other, and how well they sing His praise!"

❤️💡Volunteer Spotlight: Tracey Alverson💡❤️

Tracey has served with Journey Kids for three years. She moved to faithfully serving every week with our preschool class at 9:30am in Summer 2025.

The Lord revealed the need for teachers, and Tracey said yes to teaching our kids. She has such an energy and excitement that allows her to connect with the kids. Tracey says "Journey Kids bring JOY to my soul by sharing Jesus with them. I have seen such growth as we review what we have learned previously. It is so awesome to have little hands go up to answer questions. I love seeing them every week!"

❤️💡Volunteer Spotlight: Mark Siemens💡❤️
Mark has served with Journey Kids since March 2025. He moved to faithfully serving every week with our pr***en class at 9:30am in September 2025.

Mark was inspired to serve and be part of something bigger than self. He brings a laid back, relational approach that connects with this age group. He says his favorite part of serving is "using the gifts GOD gave me for His glory." Mark has seen God work with the pr***ens in students who are not intimidated by the Bible, and seeing them discover a truth or even a connection.

❤️💡Volunteer Spotlight: Dani Benjamin💡❤️

Dani has served with Journey Kids for 2 years. She started out serving in the nursery and then in August 2025 transitioned to faithfully serving every week with our preschool class at 11am.

Dani shared "I have always loved children, and teaching them about God's deep love for them. There came an opportunity for a preschool teacher to teach every week so the kids would have consistency and a place they felt safe because they would know what to expect every week. After praying about it, I felt like God was calling me to do it, and I was excited to get to show them the love of Jesus each week!"

Building relationships with kids, hearing about their lives, and seeing their growth has been a joy for Dani! A big focus in the preschool class is going to God for anything. Dani explains that focus this way: "When kiddos are having a hard time listening, we stop what we are doing and we pray out loud that God will help them to listen and focus! We also ask for prayer to help share, be kind to our friends, understand the lesson or any other help we would need. God has really answered those prayers, and then it's a blessing to be able to have those kiddos see that God helped them, and they get to experience Him in a tangible way! It's a way for the kids to experience the gospel in small ways by recognizing our deep need we have for Jesus and how He is their Savior."

Ladies join us tonight at 6:30pm in the Student Center for Rooted in the Home. This women's group focuses on creating community and equipping women to be biblical homemakers. We look forward to seeing you tonight!
