ACTS Homeless Ministry NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP SERVE ON THE FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH. ALSO NEED DONATIONS LIKE CLOTHES, NON PERISHABLE FOOD,BICYCLES, etc..

On the first and third Saturday of every month we pick up guests with vans and bring them to the Mesa campus of Central and provide them with breakfast, showers, clean clothing, haircuts and a variety of other resources to help and support them. How to Serve:

Our Servant Ministers:

Cook in the kitchen. Take prayer requests and fellowship with the guests. Serve the meal to our guests. Be a shower

attendant in the men's and women's showers. Assemble toiletry bags for men & women. Cut hair for our guests. Sort and hand out clothes. Drive or co-pilot a van. Below is a list of goods regularly needed for the homeless that ACTS Homeless Ministry regularly distributes. Thank you in advance for support the homeless. Any and all donations are appreciated! WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our pantry shelves are running low.

Our pantry shelves at ACTS Homeless Ministry are running low — and we can’t do this without you.

Every week, families and individuals walk through our doors seeking hope, food, and support. Because of your generosity, we’re able to meet them with love, dignity, and acceptance. ❤️

But right now, our supplies are critically low.

Here’s what we urgently need:

🥣 FOOD ITEMS
• Cereal
• Rice
• Pasta
• Canned pasta sauce
• Canned meats (tuna, chicken, Spam)
• Canned vegetables
• Canned fruit
• Healthy soups

👕 CLOTHING NEEDS
• Men’s shorts (all sizes)
• Men’s shoes (all sizes)

✂️ VOLUNTEER BARBERS & HAIRCUTTERS
We’re also looking for volunteer barbers and haircutters to serve on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month.

A fresh haircut may seem small but to someone struggling, it restores confidence, dignity, and reminds them they are seen and valued.

Every can donated.
Every pair of shoes.
Every haircut given.

It all says the same thing:

🔥 What does it look like when a community refuses to stop loving people? This.

Yesterday was ACTS Service Saturday and hope was felt all throughout our community. ❤️

🙌 We had our ACTS leadership team meeting with people who faithfully serve behind the scenes and carry the heart of this ministry every single month.

🌹 We also celebrated Rose turning 99 years old! When asked what she wanted this next year, she said she wanted God to keep giving her power to continue serving others. What a beautiful picture of faith in action.

✝️ And another baptism on Saturday, bringing our total to 16 baptisms at ACTS this year. Sixteen lives. Sixteen stories. Sixteen moments heaven celebrated.

📊 What God has done through ACTS in 2026:
✂️ 394 haircuts
👓 315 pairs of glasses
🩺 465 guests served by nurses
📖 112 Bibles given
🙏 1,035 prayer requests lifted up

But yesterday one moment captured the heart of it all.

A guest shared with one of our volunteers:
“This is why I come here. Because you all listen to me.”

Nobody should feel invisible.
And at ACTS, they don’t.

Today, we showed up to shine our light.
Serving others, sharing hope, with compassion at the center of it all.

Meals were served.
Nurses brought healing.
Clothes were given.
Food distributed.
Showers brought refreshment.
Haircuts restored dignity.

Eyeglasses brought clarity.
Bicycles created new opportunity.
Mats offered rest.
Resources gave direction.
Prayer brought peace.
And so much more…

It may start with meeting a need…
but it becomes so much more.

Sometimes, we are the only friends someone has.
And in those moments, love matters most.

We gave our hearts.
We gave light.
We gave life.

What happened today doesn’t just impact today… it echoes into eternity.

ACTS Homeless Ministry · Donation Drive

When was the last time someone called you by name?
For most of us, today. For our unhoused neighbors, it might have been weeks. Months. Maybe longer.

The deepest poverty isn't empty pockets. It's being invisible.
A clean shirt says you matter.
A pair of shoes says your next step counts.
A backpack says what you carry is worth carrying.

ACTS shows up to say those things through the things we give.

🙌 What we need most right now:

👕 Men's clothing & gear: shirts, pants, shoes, two-strap backpacks

🥫 Food (distributed weekly): canned fruit & vegetables, canned meat, healthy snacks, cereal, pasta, canned pasta sauce

🚲 We also welcome: women's and kids' clothing, and bicycles in working or not working condition (a bike can get someone to a job, a shelter, or a meal)

✋ Here's the ask: bring one item this Sunday. Just one. That's how this work gets done — one neighbor, one bag, one donation at a time.

Today at ACTS, impact happened.

Thank you to every guest and volunteer who showed up, you are what makes this community come alive.

ACTS is more than a place.
It’s a community that sees, serves, and cares.

Impact happens in the small, meaningful moments:

• A person who came hungry leaving fed and seen
• A guest feeling dignity instead of shame
• A volunteer walking away changed, not just busy
• A moment where someone experiences God through people

Today, one guest shared that their plarn mat has changed their daily life, bringing comfort, warmth, and the powerful feeling of being loved and cared for.

This is what love in action looks like.

On April 4th, we served 323 guests across campus and mobile outreach, lives impacted by your support.

We’re not doing this alone.
God is moving through every moment.
