While kids are home for the summer, our immigrant neighbors have a special summer need: snacks! Bring your snack donations to our 10:30 service on Sunday mornings through June, and we will donate them to the Immigrant Pantry. Some shelf-stable snack ideas: fruit snacks, granola bars, individual snack-size bags of chips and cookies.

We 'donut' 🍩 know what we'd do without you, Mandy Grisham! Last Sunday, along with donuts and a tribute during the service, we celebrated 5 years with Mandy as our Executive Pastor. She has guided Christ City through so many changes, big and small, including helping us weather the pandemic, find a new denominational home, and take on ownership of our historic building!

Also, shoutout to our Volunteer Coordinator, Mariah Peña, on her one-year ministry anniversary! Mariah has taken up the task of recruiting and scheduling volunteers for nine serving teams, making it possible for our Sunday services to flow each week. Thank you both for all the hard work and love that you pour into this community. We couldn't be a place to belong and a place to know God without you!

When it comes to authority, who decides who belongs? Who gets forgiven and who gets kicked out? Pastor Jamin preached last Sunday about the steps communities can take to embrace a healthy spiritual authority. It's not easy, but it's worth practicing. The sermon series on 'Authority Issues' continues through June!

We kicked off summer with a special indoor worship and picnic last Sunday! Due to AC updates and hot temps, we got to enjoy worship, food, and fellowship in a cool indoor space, for which we are so grateful. Thanks to everyone who brought food and joined us for the event, and a huge thanks to the volunteers and staff who made it all happen!

Do you have authority issues? Maybe authority feels scary, or because of bad experiences in the past you want to push it away entirely. Maybe you feel most comfortable listening to authority more than your own inner knowing. Wherever you land, it's important to consider the impact authority has on our lives and the value it might hold as we form spiritually. Join us on Sundays through June as Pastor Jamin explores the nuances of spiritual authority. See you at 531 S McLean Blvd at 10:30 on Sundays!

We will have fans running and will do our best to keep everyone comfortable. We’ve checked the temps and we think’s it’ll be a little warm but nothing some shorts and short sleeves can’t fix!

Many of us carry stories about spiritual authority being misused—being told not to question, to ignore harm, or to stay silent for the sake of leadership. Experiences like these can lead us to believe that authority itself is a bad thing.
But authority is part of every relationship and community. If our lives are shaped only by avoiding authority, we may become more focused on rebellion against what harmed us than formation into who we are called to become.
In our new series, Authority Issues: The Harm and Hope of Spiritual Authority, we’ll explore how authority can wound, how it can heal, and what it means to practice and receive authority in the way of Jesus. Starting this Sunday, May 24! See you at 531 S McLean Ave at 10:30 am.

Thanks to New Church Ministry for highlighting Christ City Church and sharing about the vision our congregation holds for healing and community!

When Jamin and Mandy walked into Memphis Pizza Café, they were looking for a home for their church. What they didn’t expect to was a family.

Memphis is a Miracle. It's as true now as it ever has been, despite the temptation to despair in the volatile political environment around us. Pastor Jamin wrapped up his Eastertide sermon series with the simple truth that: Memphis is a Miracle. Reflecting on Paul's experience with the Athenians in Acts 17: 22-31, we can remember that we are so much more than simplistic definitions. That awareness allows us to participate in the miracle all around us.
