Join us in celebrating and showing God's love for all at the Mid-South Pride Parade and Festival this weekend!
❤️ Saturday, June 6 at Robert Church Park
🧡 The Parade is at 11 am. We’ll line up starting at 10:30 am on Beale St, just north of Robert Church Park. Our lineup spot is #13, or you can find us by our colorful ribbon towers!
💛 See the festival map for our booth location. We will be set up from 11 am until 3 pm! Stop by and say hi, or bring a chair and hang out a while!
💚 Entrance to the festival is $3. It is cash only at the gate, or you can purchase a ticket online in advance. There is also a clear bag policy (excluding diaper bags).
💙 DM us if you want to be added to the day-of pride group text!

VBS Day 1 was a blast! We played games, sang songs, made art, and did experiments! Through our Bible story about the apostle Thomas, we learned that God welcomes our questions and curiosity, and we wondered together what we would want to ask Jesus if we saw him. We can't wait to see everyone again tomorrow!

At the Potluck on Sunday, we will be collecting donations for the Idlewild Compassion Fund. Our Compassion Fund provides financial assistance to those in need of emergency help with rent and utility bills, and relies completely on donations. You can give online by choosing "compassion fund" in the realm giving dropdown menu or bring cash/check to the potluck on Sunday!

We are excited for fun-filled energy streaming through the halls, and we are so thankful for the many volunteers who have committed their time, love, and energy to make this week special for our children! If you would still like to help, there are several meaningful ways you can support VBS:
🙏 Pray for the children, volunteers, and staff
♻️ Send in magazines and paper towel rolls for projects

This summer, the Adult Formation Committee has chosen a guiding thread to connect our weekly gatherings - Women and the Bible.

Over the course of the summer, we'll have the opportunity to learn more about the particular women, named and unnamed, in our holy scriptures, discuss women in biblical art and sacred music, hear from community organizations addressing the needs of women here in Memphis, and learn from our ecumenical and interfaith friends and colleagues.

We'll finish our forums on August 30th, with the return of Dr. Catherine Meeks, who will join us for worship as well.
