Happy 901 Day, Memphis! 💙

There’s a lot to love about this city - her soul, her creativity, her grit, her neighborhoods, and most of all, her people.

Mercy Hill Church was planted right here in the heart of Midtown because we believe God loves Memphis - and we do, too. We’re grateful to be part of this city, to love our neighbors, to seek her good, and to believe with hope in what God is doing here.

Memphis, you’re our home. And we’re proud to be part of the 901!

If you need a smile today, just listen to these kids share their favorite parts of VBS! From games and snacks to songs, crafts, and Bible stories, it’s been a week full of joy, laughter, and learning about God’s love.

But guess what? What’s Cookin’? isn’t quite finished yet! 🍕👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Consider Sunday our final course of the week!

Join us at 10 AM as we sing a couple of our favorite VBS songs during worship, and kids will enjoy one last VBS lesson during Elementary Worship. Then stick around for a Pizza Potluck! 🍕 MHC is providing the pizza, and kids are invited to bring their favorite dessert to share. 🍪🧁🍰 (Bonus points if you make it together at home this weekend—we’ve been talking about cooking all week, after all!)

And, of course, we’ll premiere the final VBS recap video so everyone can relive the memories one more time. 🎬✨

We’d love to see your family there as we celebrate all God has done this week and enjoy one more sweet moment together!

👩‍🍳🧁 VBS Night 2 was full of sweet reminders that God gave us gifts to make a difference! 🌟

Our VBS chefs-in-training mixed up another fun evening with games, snacks, art, and learning about how God protected baby Moses and had a special purpose for his life from the very beginning (Exodus 2:1–10). 🧺🌊

Just like every great recipe needs the right ingredients, God has given each of us unique gifts, talents, and abilities to use for His glory and to serve others. No gift is too small when it’s placed in the Master’s hands! 🥄❤️

We loved seeing our kids discover that God has created each of them with purpose - and we can’t wait to see what’s cookin’ next! 🔥🍽️

Missional Community life looks like bare feet on your friend’s floors at the end of the day. It looks like dinner around a table together with good food and even better conversation. It looks like kids in laps and babies on hips and raising them together to know and love Jesus. It looks like people of all ages and backgrounds doing life together, learning from each other and valuing what each person brings. It looks like celebrating together - and celebrating each other. It looks like grieving together and carrying one another’s burdens when life is too much and doesn’t make sense. It’s messy and beautiful and real, and we wouldn’t choose anything different! Vacation Bible school is just around the corner, and we are looking for volunteers to invest in our kiddos! VBS is a great opportunity to serve our church family and the community around us. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other MHC families throughout the week. There are many ways in which you can serve - you won’t want to miss out!

Join us for worship on Sunday, April 5th as we celebrate the resurrection - and invite a friend, neighbor, or family member, too! Come early to enjoy coffee, snacks, and fellowship - and be sure to snap a photo or two at the photo booth behind the sanctuary. The baby and toddler room will open at MHKids preschool and elementary dismissal. We hope to see you there!

Join us at 6pm tomorrow, April 3rd as we journey through the story of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for our redemption—through Scripture, song, and reflection. Together, we’ll move from the weight of the cross toward the hope it brings, preparing our hearts to celebrate the joy of Jesus’ resurrection this Easter Sunday.
