Harvest Presbyterian Church of Medina Harvest is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. We are happy to share opportunities to learn about the God we serve and grow in His grace.

As your neighbors in Medina County, it is our privilege to serve our community. This fb page is for you, because it is the place we post community events, and helpful information. We hope you will join us! Our service is "traditional" - following a reformed liturgy, classic and modern hymns & praise songs (with piano and sometimes keyboard, acoustic guitar, trombone, or other classic instrument.). We celebrate communion once a month, and enjoy selections from our worship, bell and children's choirs September-May. June-August we have occasional special music from members of our worship choir. Our men are studying 1 Corinthians as they continue through the letters of Paul. This is your study, men! See you Tuesday night at 7pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran!

Our Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study will be starting next week!
We’ll be using Nancy Guthrie’s study “Saved: Experiencing the Promise of the Book of Acts”.
Registration is closed and books have been ordered, but please feel free to stop by and learn with us!

Our Tuesday Evening Women’s Bible Study will be studying the Psalms starting in 2 weeks! We plan to use the "At His Feet" study book, simply titled "Psalms". If you are interested in attending, please reach out to [email protected] before September 22nd as books need to be ordered.
Hope to see you there as we lean into the book that guides us when seeking peace in chaos, a language for our grief, or a way to celebrate victory.

Christian maturity is not merely knowing what is right. It is learning to live it out—in our homes, our marriages, and our ordinary relationships.

1 Peter 3 reminds us that the gospel should shape not only what we believe, but how we treat one another. The prayer is simple: Lord, make the character of Christ visible in me.

May His mind shape our attitudes, His love govern our actions, and His grace make us faithful where it matters most.

Weekly Sunday School Classes for all ages will begin this coming Sunday, September 13 from 11:00 AM-12:00 noon.

The Adult Class will continue a study of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. New and returning students are all welcome, as the class will begin with a review of last semester’s studies.

There will be a class for Youth (high school and middle school).

The Children’s classes will continue in their studies in the Gospel Project, learning about Jesus during His time on earth after His resurrection, and about the early church in the beginning of the book of Acts.

Love gets real when it costs you something.
It’s easy to love when love is convenient. But what happens when loving someone means giving up your preferences, your time, your comfort, or your right to be first?

Peter calls husbands to something radically different from the world’s version of strength: understand her. Honor her. Sacrifice for her good.

And the standard isn't our culture. It isn't our feelings.
It’s Christ.

“...love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” — Ephesians 5:25 (ESV)
Jesus didn't love us because we were easy to love. He gave Himself for us.

When Jesus is Lord, we don't have to spend our lives protecting ourselves.
We are free to give ourselves away in love.
Christlike love costs.
And because Christ is good, we can afford to love sacrificially.

What does Christlike love actually look like?
It means more than having good intentions. It means being willing to count the cost and seek the other person's good—even when that means giving up your own preferences.

In 1 Peter 3:7, Peter calls husbands to live with their wives “in an understanding way” and to show them honor. In the sermon, we saw that this kind of care means knowing your wife, considering her needs, and being willing to sacrifice for her good.

That command becomes even clearer when we look to Christ:
“...love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” — Ephesians 5:25 (ESV)

The Christian husband doesn't lead by demanding his own way. He follows a Savior who gave Himself away.

And this reaches beyond marriage. In every relationship, trusting that Jesus is Lord and that His ways are good frees us from the fear that we have to protect ourselves at all costs.

We can let go of self.
We can serve.
We can love.
Because Christ has already given Himself for us.
