Providence Church (formerly known as First General Baptist Church of Mattoon)
is a community of believers that hold true to God's word and His teachings. The church was founded in 1954 and for over 60 years now, we have been passionate about serving our community by being a witness to others, teaching and preaching the Good News and wanting to see tr

ansformation in peoples lives. In a city of over 18,000 residents, Providence still has that "small town church" atmosphere that tends to get lost in the big production setups of today, yet we are a dynamic church with a mix of people from all walks of life. If you are new to Providence, no worries. We understand that a new church can be intimidating and uncomfortable. We have members that would love to help you understand more of who we are and make it their duty to see that you are taken care of.​

**Please Read**
Men's Breakfast this Saturday May, 30th!

We will start the morning at the Downtown Diner in Mattoon at 8:30am.

We will then head to the Defense Depot to try out the new ranges! Defense Depot is in Northwest Mattoon just southwest of the old Rural King store.

**IMPORTANT INFO**
Anyone that is going, needs to register ahead of time by going to their website Defensedepot.shop. From that point you select book range time, make sure you're doing the firing range not the golf range. Then select range waiver. You will then need to go through and answer all of the questions, initialing where you need to, and finally signing the waiver. The whole process takes about 5 minutes. YOU MUST BRING EYE AND EAR PROTECTION. This will speed things up when we get to the range. We have five lanes for us, from 10:00 to 11:00.

Don't forget about our Easter Services this Sunday! NOTE: OUR WORSHIP SERVICE IS AT 10:00 A.M., 30 minutes earlier than usual. If you signed up to bring something for breakfast and don't remember what you need to bring or the amount, please comment on this post or contact Amy Hudspath. We look forward to celebrating the Risen Savior with you!

Just a reminder that Easter Cards for the staff and residents of area Nursing Homes & FILLED Easter Eggs for the children's Easter egg hunt (after the Easter breakfast on April 5) need to be brought to the church BY Wednesday, April 1.
